SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages 3-5 accounting and services staff.  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training and motivating associates. Assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:
•Oversees the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements for management, the Board of Directors, and external stakeholders.

•Coordinates scheduling and completing the external audit and all required tax filings. Maintains working relationship with independent auditors and outside tax consultants. Coordinates execution of contracts, review of reports, resolving issues and drafting responses to findings. Ensures audit and tax engagements are completed on time and in accordance with contract provisions. Ensures accuracy and completeness of all information in audited financial statements, including notes, and tax filings. Stays abreast of current issues impacting accounting and tax matters for the organization.

•Monitors cash balance of the corporation and coordinates timing of disbursements and transfer of funds from investment account, as required to maintain sufficient cash on hand for business needs.

•Develops and implements internal control systems and procedures to safeguard assets of the organization. Manages operational audits and ensures remediation activities are completed. Coordinates with peers and organization leadership to ensure internal controls are in place and properly functioning.

•Evaluates and monitors control impacts of investment accounts including alternative investment disclosures in audited financial statements.

•Manages grant administration support functions including accurate and timely distribution of grant funds, compliance with grant administration policy regarding tax status of grantees, updates to grant management system, receipt of returned grant funds, maintenance of grant files, reconciliation of grant management and financial systems.

•Manages fundraising support functions including accurate and timely receipt of donor funds, updates to donor database, processing of matching gift forms and donor acknowledgements and reconciliation of donor database and financial systems.

Experience/Education Required EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor''s degree from a four-year college or university in Accounting or Finance and 7-10 years related work experience.

TECHNICAL SKILLS
•Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
•Working knowledge of SAP accounting systems.
•Strong leadership skills; ability to build high-performing teams.
•Ability to maintain highly confidential material.
•Strong knowledge of internal controls.
•Independently identifies business issues and works cross-functionally to resolve issues.
•Ability to build consensus
•Good negotiation skills
•High customer orientation
•Demonstrated willingness to take a stand on important issues
•Comfortable with ambiguity
•Ability to manage several projects and issues simultaneously.
•Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
•Experience with Microsoft Office products.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Certified Public Accountant required
