Your Opportunity Informatica is the world’s number one independent provider of data integration software delivering Big Data solutions for ETL, data quality, data discovery and profiling, data matching, real-time streaming, MDM, data masking, data archiving, CEP, data hubs, and data virtualization. You will be a key member of the Big Data product marketing team and will communicate the value proposition of our industry-leading Big Data solutions to customers, partners, and the market at large. You will take ownership of Big Data product marketing campaigns and work cross-functionally with product management, sales, marketing, and alliances teams to drive key deliverables to enable sales, demand generation, and thought leadership. You will learn and contribute to all aspects of product marketing – authoring compelling collateral using differentiated product positioning; participating in evangelization of value through social media, analysts, and press; enabling sales and alliances; and showcasing customers’ successes. You will help communicate through various channels how companies can succeed with Informatica’s Big Data solutions to achieve their business goals. Our Ideal Candidate You are a skilled marketer or product manager, who will work closely with customers and partners as well as with Informatica's product, sales, and services staff to create all aspects of outbound and some parts of inbound marketing content needed to support marketing efforts. You are an extremely motivated individual who can work with minimal supervision in the rapidly growing Big Data market. You create an awesome and educational experience for business technology professionals using collateral, blogs, YouTube, Slideshare, and other online digital media channels. You naturally connect with business and IT professionals and are able to build a community that innovates with Big Data and the collaboration of ideas. You thrive in a team environment and work enthusiastically with colleagues outside the immediate team to achieve company goals and strive to make a measurable impact. You have practical business sense and are passionate about the impact technology has on business and our lives. Your Responsibilities Reporting to the Senior Director of Big Data Product Marketing in this newly created role and based in Redwood City, CA, your responsibilities will include:
•Collateral Creation—You will assist with the creation of all marketing collateral including a wide range of internal and external content such as product data sheets, sales scripts, FAQs as well as white papers. You will deliver external-facing case studies, ROI and solution papers based on customer interviews, and internal content such as sales scripts, competitive briefings, and market trends and monitoring reports. You will create and maintain all product content for the company website.
•Social Media and Thought Leadership—You will write blogs, tweets, LinkedIn Groups, YouTube videos, Slideshare presentations, and engage in all aspects of social marketing to promote thought leadership and brand. You will help build an online community of Big Data practitioners that demonstrates thought leadership, includes the partner community, customer stories, and provides useful strategy and best practices. You will contribute to Informatica’s Big Data digital marketing strategy; define and execute Big Data digital and social marketing campaigns. Communicate Informatica’s role in Big Data through fantastic storytelling adding humor, drama, and suspense. Identify digital and social marketing trends and key opportunities for innovation
•Collaboration with Marketing Communications—You will work with analyst relations, press relations, and customer advocacy to participate in creation of specific messages for analyst and media briefings, product evaluations, and public case studies. You will conduct customer and partner interviews to generate case studies as well as capture requirements.
•Demand Generation—You will work closely with Corporate Marketing Managers who are responsible for marketing plan, lead generation campaigns and go-to-market events and programs to ensure that all of the marketing collateral at these campaigns, programs and events is consistent in overall branding, message and details; also ensure that all sales tools and collateral at these events and programs are up-to-date and complete.
•Sales/Field Support—You will create sales collateral and train sales teams on messaging and positioning. Maintain collateral library and guide field sales on its use. You will help create automated Big Data campaign nurture flows, and assist sales teams in efforts to accelerate Big Data campaign pipeline through the sales and marketing funnel.
•Collaboration with Product Management and Engineering—You will work closely with product management and engineering teams to translate the technical vision into marketing communications such as technical white papers. You will work with product management to build compelling product demos.
•Competitive Strategy—You will track and monitor the competitive landscape and ensure that the company collateral and website accurately reflects the latest, differentiated product positioning. Your Qualifications
•Eight or more years of relevant experience in product marketing, solutions marketing, and/or product management in enterprise software; focus on data management and/or Big Data highly desirable
•Social media, digital marketing, community management, communications and/or marketing experience
•Experience managing social media channels in addition to expertise measuring social media effectiveness through the use of social tools; proven ability to build and maintain a significant online presence
•Capable of/willing to do basic market research and analysis
•Strong, analytical thinking and clear, demonstrated oral communication skills to present the content to various sales, engineering and support staff
•Outstanding written communication skills and skilled at writing various types of collateral with demonstrated ability to write product literature, customer interviews, case studies, business value assessments, and white papers
•Strong initiative and follow-through skills with high attention to detail and quality
•Demonstrated ability to work individually on projects and as collaborate as a supportive team member
•Exhibit high degree of creativity with a penchant for driving results
•Able to make good decisions even in the absence of some desired information
•Enthusiastic, diligent, highly productive, and high integrity
•Experienced at managing and delivering on time with multiple concurrent priorities
•Technical undergraduate degree in computer science or related discipline; advanced degree a plus
