Objective of position:
Provide quality speech and language therapy services to clients with developmental disabilities. Training and supervision for families, students, and professionals in the area of communication development and disorders.
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
Plan and implement new program formats for providing clinical services to children and their families referred to the program. Serve as a member of the Tresco Outreach and Training Services Evaluation Team. Identify children with communicative or oropharyngeal disorders and delays, including the diagnosis and appraisal of specific disorders and delays in those skills. Assist in the development of IFSP s. Assist parents and professionals in the understanding and interpretation of significance of children s developmental status. Maintain current CPR/First Aid certification. Valid driver s license in state where residing. Maintain vehicle insurance as per New Mexico State law and insurable by Tresco s automobile insurance carrier. Basic computer skills.
Educational requirements and experience:
Master s Degree and current certificate of clinical competence from the American Speech Language Hearing Association and current SLP license from the State of New Mexico. Bi-lingual (Spanish) preferred.
