Taylor University is seeking applications and nominations of distinguished candidates for Program Director and Department Chair of Social Work in the School of Social Sciences, Education & Business in the Department of Social Work.  This is a tenure-track position beginning August 2016.  Appointment will be at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, and salary is dependent upon qualifications and experience. Department

The social work department serves approximately 75 majors. The department has had a baccalaureate level program (either BA or BS) accredited by CSWE since 1980. The department of social work promotes the development of lifelong learners by empowering students to minister the redemptive love of Jesus Christ through social justice within the individual, group and global environments. This mission is accomplished through 1) preparing baccalaureate level social workers to become competent and effective beginning generalist practitioners that includes formal or informal lifelong learning; 2) integrating Christian values with professional social work values to challenge worldviews, personal beliefs, societal constructs; and 3) globalizing students perspectives and experiences and sensitizing circles of influence to the issues and experiences of diverse, vulnerable, and often marginalized population groups in an effort to advance social justice. The successful candidate will possess an MSW with at least two years of subsequent practice experience. The PhD or DSW in social work or closely related field is preferred. Candidates with MSW degree only must be willing to further social work education. A record of both successful college teaching and professional experience is desired. Location

Taylor University, a four-year liberal arts college holding to a strong evangelical position, is located in Upland, Indiana.  Upland is on Indiana Highway 22, four miles east of I-69, seventy miles north of Indianapolis, and fifty miles south of Fort Wayne.
