SUMMARY:

As a conceptual, creative thought leader, lead the Business Development functions at Lincoln Industries for the purpose of developing new growth in the areas of Lifestyle, Performance and Protection.  Develop strategies and sales goals for each segment, identify and obtain new markets and new products, development of new product and process offerings through innovation function, market analysis, brand building and pricing strategies.

Drive customer understanding to foresee and understand their unspoken needs and work with Innovation to develop and commercialize the solutions which meet these needs.

Develop strategic moves to allow the company to enter open space in new and existing market places.

Create a multifaceted portfolio that includes:

Enhancement Launches - Projects that improve the profit streams and growth of the core business

*

Platform Launches- Major initiatives that often require substantial investment to establish the company in a new growth area. The goal is to establish a platform for significant growth for future revenues and profits.

*

Scouting Options - Using existing technology or capability in developing a new set of customers.

*

Stepping Stones - The development of new technologies or capabilities that may be needed in a unforeseen market or customer

*

Position Options - Initiatives where there is confidence that a long term customer demand exists.

*

Develop a market awareness and credibility of Lincoln Industries new innovative strength and market expansion.

*

Strategically plan and lead the new revenue growth and profitability of the organization focusing on solutions through innovation, new product development, and new market development.

*

Maintain and build current strategic customer relationships through frequent senior-level customer interaction and partnerships.

*

Lead and manage pricing strategies for new business opportunities.

Work closely with internal departments – Advanced Manufacturing, Design, Integration, Operations, Finance and Accounting and People Resources to achieve performance objectives.

Provide on-going input into key business systems – Gate Process, Forecasting, Metrics, etc.

*

Develop and manage budget for Business Development.

*

Research and develop strategies regarding participation in technical conferences, industry events, trade shows for creating exposure and potential business generation.  Participate as required.

*

Lead the development of business agreements, pricing and contracts with customers.

*

Manage the development process of direct reports to include – development and review of performance objectives, on-going feedback and accountability, personal growth and career development.

*

Invest in self through on-going development (internal learning and development, external conferences, literature, wellness, etc.).

*

Could potentially come in contact with hazardous chemicals.

*

Any other tasks as required fulfilling Lincoln Industries' Beliefs and Drivers.

ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE:

This is an officer role within Lincoln Industries

Directors, Business Development – (Lifestyle, Performance and Protection)

Future: Marketing Manager

QUALIFICATIONS:  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.  Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be substituted for the expected levels of education and experience required.

Education and/or Experience:

* Expected:  Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university.  Minimum of 10 years’ experience in business to business sales.
* Preferred:  MBA.  Engineering undergraduate degree.  Experience selling technical products, engineer solutions or services.

Communication Skills:

*

Must be able to read, write and comprehend the English language.

*

Excellent oral and written communication with proven strong persuasive communication.

* Strong relationship building skills.

Other Skills:

* Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
