This position manages the daily operations of the accounting and finance operations including providing oversight and direction for monthly and quarterly financial statement preparation, financial reporting including compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.  The position has the responsibility for determining the application of accounting policies and principles.  The position is also responsible for overseeing the preparation of supporting schedules including financial analysis of operations, cost accounting, treasury/cash management, revenue recognition and internal control and SOX compliance. The position will work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to achieve department, company and personal goals.


·Manage day to day operations including accounting department and practices, financial reporting, treasury and asset and risk management, internal controls and operating policies and procedures including overseeing international operations.

· Development and implement tax strategies including international structure, use of NOLs, State tax planning and transaction structuring.

· Oversee preparation of all SEC financial reports, including current, quarterly and annual filings.

· Ensure compliance with technical financial accounting standards such that all financial transactions are recorded in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

· Present quarterly results to the audit committee as well as give other presentations to both internal and external audiences as needed.

· Oversee, direct and review the preparation and timely submission of all financial reports for management.

· Ensure the proper accounting policies, procedures and internal controls are in place to safeguard the assets of the Company and ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley legislation.

· Support the development and implementation of the strategic plan, annual budgets and forecasts

· Provide financial due-diligence for buy-side merger and acquisition activities, corporate partnerships, licensing activities and other special projects.  Manage all financial and accounting aspects of these transactions.

· Research and stay abreast of the latest regulatory trends and the latest financial accounting reporting trends.

· Serve as a key business partner in the Company by providing decision support through analysis in support of the Company’s strategic and operational objectives.  Perform ad-hoc projects and analyses as required.


· Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting; MBA, CMA or CPA preferred

·  Minimum (5) years relevant in senior-level finance or accounting position in a revenue generating company, preferably with experience in biotech and/or the medical industry.

·  Knowledge of finance, accounting and control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and other highly technical accounting skills in a public company.

·  Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems, along with advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint

·  Experience working with an international corporate structure

·  Mature leader with cross functional leadership experience and ability to establish strong connection/teamwork with cross functional department.

·  Strong communication skills

· Motivated self starter, shows initiative/independence and driven to make important business contributions

· Results and goal oriented with ability to demonstrate excellent judgment.  Highly collaborative and perceptive, and shows prudent analysis in problem solving.
