SUMMARY OF POSITION

Duties include execution of Class ”C” misdemeanor warrants, summons, or other process issued by Municipal Court, assist other jurisdictions with the execution of warrants within the City if needed and serves as bailiff for Municipal Court.

­-Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing;
­-Skills in the operation and maintenance of a number of office machines and equipment such as PC’s, copier, fax machine, calculator, etc.
­-Tolerate outside working conditions; and 
­-Maintain appropriate necessary certifications and licenses applicable to job responsibilities, including a Valid Texas driver’s license.
­-Must pass and maintain all physical activities and requirements of the Ingleside Police Department

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS AND SAFETY HAZARDS:

Work may be performed in a climate controlled office environment or out in hot/cold weather while serving warrants, summons or assisting the Ingleside Police Department when asked to do so. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Six (6) hours of duty will be dedicated outside of the office to serve warrants, summons, and other process papers for the Ingleside Municipal Court or assisting the Ingleside Police Department as requested; (During emergencies and if there is only one officer on duty and needs backup.  If there are two officers on duty, then back up will only be allowed if requested by the Ingleside Police Department supervisor).  
-Exceptions: Extremely Bad Weather Days
-In Class - (for TCOLE Certification, Warrant/Bailiff School, or Qualifying)
-When serving as Bailiff
-As Directed by Judge

Must wear protective vest purchased by the city when serving warrants, summons, and other process papers for the Ingleside Municipal Court or assisting the Ingleside Police Department and other agencies. 

Two (2) hours of duty will be in the office for administrative purposes. The last 30 minutes to an hour will be spent in the office completing daily activity sheets.

Daily activity sheets must be completed at the end of every shift with a copy of CAD - calls for service attached and given to the Judge (If Judge is not in the office, place activity sheet in the basket on her desk.)

Must report on duty and off duty over the Ingleside Police Department radio to dispatch

Must give location over the Ingleside Police Department radio when serving warrants, summons, or making any other contact.

Must advise the Judge when going out of the city to serve warrants

Must notify the proper agency when serving warrants out of Ingleside City Limits
Serve as bailiff for the municipal court;
-Provides security in the court office when needed
-Maintains decorum in the courtroom during court proceedings
-Jail Call when needed by the Judge

Serve warrants, summons or other process issued by the Municipal Court;
-Responsible for the clearance of outstanding warrants issued by the court
-Serves warrants by field contact, phone contact, and physical arrest if necessary

Responsible for maintaining accurate records and keep city mat
