GENERAL PURPOSE:
This Productivity Engineering Manager is responsible coordinating the activities of the Productivity Engineering team and the delivery of critical budgeted cost improvement initiatives. Primary responsibilities include maintaining the list of open projects, evaluating the priorities with Senior DC Leadership, developing the schedules and ensuring the team's successful delivery of projects. Calculating the impact of each standards update, best method and process change is also a key responsibility. The Productivity Engineering Manager also provides weekly updates regarding project status, savings and productivity metrics to the DC VP and Directors. Additional responsibilities include ensuring DC processes, standards, production data collection and methods are consistent across the network. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
-Manages and develops the Engineered Labor Standards for multi-variable production operations. Develops proper methods to be used for each production operation. Ensures the standards reflect the work content of the most efficient methods. Identifies and evaluates improvements in methods, procedures, and workflow that increase productivity, and decrease operating cost. -Coordinates the activities of the Productivity Engineering Team with Sr. DC Leadership through regular meetings in addition to the weekly project status update. The Engineering Manger updates the team on the status of each project, reviews savings, gains approval on proposed changes relating to the engineered labor standards, and collaborates on the prioritization of current and future projects.-Maintains configuration and assists in development of production reporting applications and related interfaces with timekeeping, warehouse management, and labor productivity systems. Makes recommendations for modifications to support related incentive systems.-Prepares and maintains engineering documentation dealing with distribution center operations, material handling or warehouse management system issues. Coordinates with Process Improvement Engineering and the Technical Writing group to ensure processes and procedures are updated and consistent across the network.-Advises and assists Senior DC Leadership with labor analysis and economic justification studies. Assists operating management with implementation of any changes to established methods.-Advises and assists DC VP's, Directors and Managers regarding new methods and processes in order to improve existing operations and to accommodate new business requirements.-Assists in the development of and implements processes and mechanisms for labor forecasting, staffing, modeling, incentive performance/bonus reporting and tracking and other ad-hoc reporting as required to support management of engineering projects.

-Four-year degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent field.-2 or more years related experience; retail distribution operations preferred.-Strong math and analytical skills required.-Proven project management experience required.-Strong operations knowledge of distribution and related processes preferred. Time study, work measurement, and /or data collection experience for the development of engineered labor standards.-The ability to effectively communicate and interact at many organizational levels including non-exempt associates, operational supervisors, and senior level management.-The ability to think in terms of process flow and identify operational component operations and interrelationships.-Detail-oriented with strong organizational and technical writing skills.-Experience in using PCs in a professional setting
- developing and using standard applications such as spreadsheets, databases, and word processors as typical tools to execute.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directs the work of the Productivity Engineer, Productivity Engineering Technicians I and II, along with any Industrial Engineering Interns. -Four-year degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent field.-2 or more years related experience; retail distribution operations preferred.-Strong math and analytical skills required.-Proven project management experience required.-Strong operations knowledge of distribution and related processes preferred. Time study, work measurement, and /or data collection experience for the development of engineered labor standards.-The ability to effectively communicate and interact at many organizational levels including non-exempt associates, operational supervisors, and senior level management.-The ability to think in terms of process flow and identify operational component operations and interrelationships.-Detail-oriented with strong organizational and technical writing skills.-Experience in using PCs in a professional setting
