Navy Health Care Administrators are responsible for the business side of Navy Health Care operations – specializing in any of ten administrative focus areas, supervising the care of those who serve, managing delivery systems or evaluating training programs. In this role:

* Oversee proper construction of a new hospital
* Make recommendations on how to continue delivering quality health care in cost-effective ways
* Evaluate the training needs of personnel and make recommendations
* Assess medical and humanitarian needs after an earthquake or a natural disaster

Administrative Areas: Gain specialized expertise as you concentrate your service in one or more of these areas:

* Education and Training Management
* Financial Management
* General Health Care Administration
* Health-Care Facilities Planning
* Information Management
* Manpower Systems Analysis

* Oversee proper construction of a new hospital

Key Opportunities: It’s possible to maintain an existing civilian career while also enjoying the challenges and rewards of Navy Health Care Administration. In the Navy Reserve, you could serve as few as two days each month and two weeks each year. There are opportunities for additional service and pay, and flexible scheduling opportunities to balance work commitments and meet service requirements. There are also distinct professional advantages:

* Increase your value to health-care systems, insurance organizations, nonprofit organizations (NPOs), non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and others
* Advance and share expertise through collaboration opportunities with fellow Health Care Administration leaders
* Pursue opportunities not readily available in civilian practice (e.g., work on an aircraft carrier, in the field or in locations around the world)
* Acquire invaluable management experience as an administrative leader (Medical Service Corps Officer)
* Receive potential financial incentives (availability of offer depends on specialty)
* Receive paid training and access to Navy-funded continuing education

Qualifications and Requirements: Candidates must satisfy specific criteria to be eligible for employment consideration:

* U.S. citizenship: Required
* Education: Varies by discipline. Contact a Navy Reserve Recruiter for specific details.
* Licensing: Required in a civilian capacity (as applicable)
* Gender: Male or female
* Age: 18 to 40
* Service commitment: Minimum of two years
