Vertical Search Engine for Jobs SimplyHired.com Gets 'LinkedIn'
Over Three Million Jobs and Two Million Inside Connections Offer Job Seekers The First "One-Stop Search and Connect" Solution for Finding a New Job
MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA - Tuesday, April 19, 2005 - LinkedIn (www.linkedin.com), the world's largest and most effective business network and Simply Hired (www.simplyhired.com), the world's largest search engine for jobs, today announced a partnership to create the most extensive job search network on the planet.
The agreement - which for the first time integrates business networking with vertical search - brings over 3 million job listings indexed by Simply Hired to the LinkedIn Jobs network. As a result of the partnership, LinkedIn's more than 2.4 million users will be able to find inside connections at companies represented by these job listings. In addition, Simply Hired users can utilize the LinkedIn network to find inside connections at companies listed in SimplyHired.com search results.
"The ability to discover inside connections and obtain referrals to hiring managers has quickly made LinkedIn Jobs the preferred destination for savvy job seekers. By partnering with Simply Hired, we now give LinkedIn professionals exploring new career opportunities instant access to over three million jobs from all over the Web," said LinkedIn CEO Reid Hoffman.
Gautam Godhwani, CEO of Simply Hired explains "What people really want is to make job search simpler - they want just *one* place to go to discover all the jobs available to them. That 'one place' is SimplyHired.com. Now with access to the LinkedIn network, job seekers can also discover who they know inside a company, and make their job search faster and easier."
Launched in March 2005, LinkedIn Jobs is the Internet's first referral-powered job network that connects job applicants with hiring managers, HR professionals or recruiters representing the jobs listed on LinkedIn. On LinkedIn Jobs, candidates not only find open positions that match their interests, but also get background information on the company and the hiring manager. More importantly, job seekers can learn which of their existing professional contacts can introduce them to the hiring manager or recruiter - or to someone who knows these key contacts.
Simply Hired, which released a beta version of its vertical search engine last month, aggregates and indexes data on millions of jobs worldwide from a variety of sources including large and small job boards, newspaper and classified listings, and company websites. In just one click, Simply Hired users can perform "one-stop searching" across more than 3 million job listings using any combination of keywords and location. With advanced search features released last week, job seekers can now filter their results by company, city, or commute distance; as well as rate their results using a simple five-star rating system.
The new features and functionality resulting from the partnership will appear on the SimplyHired.com site this week and on LinkedIn Jobs by the end of next month.
