MySpace Launches Job Search Feature

Simply Hired Integration Brings Millions of Jobs to MySpace Users

Beverly Hills, CA (June 12, 2006) – MySpace, the premier lifestyle portal, today announced the launch of MySpace Jobs, a new search feature to be powered by Simply Hired, the world’s largest search engine for jobs. The new feature – available at – provides MySpace members access to more than 5 million listings aggregated by the Simply Hired search engine.

“Work is an important part of how people define themselves," said Shawn Gold, senior vice president of marketing for MySpace. “As we continue to broaden and enrich the MySpace experience, opening up the universe of jobs to our users makes perfect sense. This new feature is another way that MySpace seamlessly integrates our members’ online and offline lifestyles."

With job listings spread across numerous job boards, newspaper and company websites, job seekers have traditionally been forced to search multiple sites for jobs that interest them. Using Simply Hired’s sophisticated Web crawling technology, MySpace Jobs will aggregate listings from thousands of sources into a single index that MySpace users can search by keywords and location.

“More than half of all jobs are still found via personal connections," said Gautam Godhwani, CEO of Simply Hired. “MySpace has a tremendous opportunity to help its users tap the power of their social networks to find work that excites and engages them. This launch represents the first step in the execution of an ambitious vision, and we believe that MySpace will drive substantial change in the way that people land their dream jobs."

Fox Interactive Media (FIM) is parent company to MySpace and recently invested in Simply Hired with an aim to expand the reach of the Simply Hired search engine and to bring job search to a variety of FIM websites. MySpace is the first FIM property to integrate Simply Hired's job search capabilities, and it is expected that this new feature will send an unprecedented number of qualified candidates to the partner job sites from which it aggregates listings.

MySpace is the premier lifestyle portal for connecting with friends and discovering popular culture. By integrating web profiles, blogs, instant messaging, e-mail, music streaming, music videos, photo galleries, classified listings, events, groups, college communities and member forums, MySpace has created a connected community.
