Simply Hired CEO Named Among Bay Area’s Most Influential Under 40

Co-Founder of Largest Job Search Engine honored by San Jose Business Journal

Mountain View, Calif. – May 22, 2009 – Simply Hired, the largest job search engine and recruitment advertising network, today announced Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder Gautam Godhwani has been named to the San Jose Business Journal’s annual “40 under 40” list. The honorees, selected by the staff of the San Jose Business Journal, are recognized as influential thought leaders and key members of the San Francisco Bay Area.

Four years ago, Mr. Godhwani helped launched a job search engine aimed at creating a better experience for the job seeker. Today, Simply Hired is one of the top five career websites, and among the top 75 websites overall in the United States, boasting a reach of 12 million unique visitors per month to SimplyHired.com and its network of more than 5,000 partner sites.

“I am very humbled and honored to be named to this prestigious list,” said Mr. Godhwani. “The Bay Area community has been a wonderful place to grow a small project like Simply Hired into the nation’s premier job search engine. The others who join me on this list are some of the most brilliant minds and leaders in the area, and I look forward to collaborating with them in the future to make the Silicon Valley an even greater place for business growth.”

A serial entrepreneur, Simply Hired is the third successful project for Mr. Godhwani. He left his first venture, AtWeb, in 2000 after the leading online services company was acquired by Netscape. Immediately after the acquisition, Mr. Godhwani spent some time in his native India, and realized he could affect change and implement a sense of community to the more than 150,000 people in the Bay Area with similar heritage. With his brother, Gautam spent 18 months researching the needs of the Indian community and then opened the India Community Center in Silicon Valley. Since its launch in 2003, the Indian Community Center has grown into a 40,000 square foot, $17 million facility that supports more than 1,000 programs, including free legal and medical clinics. Though various projects and the success of Simply Hired has kept Mr. Godhwani busy, he still remains involved as a member of the Board of Trustees.

Mr. Godhwani was featured in today’s issue of the San Jose Business Journal. He will also be celebrated, along with the other recipients, at the “2009 San Jose Business Journal 40 under 40” awards dinner on June 22, 2009.
