Overall Reviews at Advance Auto Parts
Management and upper management do not help you succeed.
Watch out for promises made by upper management. Chances are they won't be around long. Pay attention to store managers.
Typically, they are out for themselves only.
ProsMost customers are nice
ConsUpper management stinks.
It was very productive and everyone was friendly.
I learned a bit more about cars and maintenance, learning to deal with customer on a bad and good day. I really liked the team, they’re supportive and care for their worker’s wellbeing’s.
Employee's are like a revolving door.
I worked for Advance for 15 Yrs. In that time span I had 17 managers and 5 District Managers, 3 CEO and too many fellow employees to mention. Not a stable work environment. No raise in about 5 yrs (always at top of my pay scale)
ProsSome stores (others nothing). Will provide lunches as award, special occasions, Promotions, & annual inventory.
low pay/benefits; poor management; low morale
Over emphasis on corporate profits with little concern for the workers. Managers often had poor people skills and poor management skills. Generally, the workers were pleasant and fun to work with.
One of the worst companies I have ever worked for. They offer no raises or explanation to raises. District managers move corrupt general managers around instead of firing them and holding them accountable. Work load is ridiculous to pay scale. Bottom line It's a part time type of work and should be treated as such
You will be overworked and underpaid
I worked with some amazing coworkers. Management is another story. The company only cares about making money for their shareholders, but could care less about their staffs.

Stressful environment. Unrealistic expectations
Vision was poorly laid out . Lack of communication in the org. Each day was filled with fire drills and misdirection. In the morning you would be asked to work on something and then as soon as the afternoon t would change to something else. Very confusing!!

Great place to work
It is a good place to work. Driving is easy especially for older workers. If you do your job right no problem, if you make mistakes you are written up.
ProsDrivers job is easy
ConsSales counter work is stressful
Not the best job but not the worst
Advance was definitely what I expected from a parts store, management helped you learn what you need if you need but expected you to know already, and the culture was ok
I was excited to work in the automotive field
A good job for someone looking to help the public. Many customers that come into the store are desperate for help with limited knowledge. The hardest part is the online training, it takes a lot of time and takes you away from customers.
