Server Reviews at Applebee's in Philadelphia, PA
working with this company was the best experience at a food restaurant. I feel in love with the job but also the employees. They were like a second family to me and I looked forward to coming to work every day with high hopes of exceeding our goals.
Prosmeeting great people
Its good for the public
The food is great but some of the managers attitudes were very unprofessional I wouldn't work there again to be honest if your are a server you're a server not a dishwasher to
It is an awesome Job
I really like this job, it has made me stronger in the restaurant business and i have learned a lot of things while working here. I would definitely recommend this job!
applebees is bad
pay was terrible, no one there was ever tipped that much so it was not a me problem. also things were always going wrong with the food it seems. maybe the customers were just horrible, which is true they were
Productive day at Applebee's
A typical day at Applebee's (working night shift) you come in around 4:00pm to about a four table section. You have line up which is a talk before the shift about what the managers expect out of you and your sales for the night. We had competitions, to see who can sale the most bar beverages which was fun because the company was so diverse a mixture of males and females (young and elderly). The hardest part of the job (for most people, never for me) is when all your tables get sat at once and you have no time to greet everyone properly, however the most enjoyable part is when all the food comes out correctly and you have made no mistakes on anyone's order.
ProsFree food most of the time
Consbusiness gets slow around the summer
Managers were awesome, pay sucked. Expect to work weekends obviously since it is a restaurant. Weeknights expect next to nothing during the slow months. Typical waitress salary.
I really enjoyed this work place.
Working here was a very nice experience. A very fast paced environment with new faces everyday. Co-workers are very helpful and management understanding when needed.
Prossome free lunches, breaks available
The people were fun but that's about it
I worked in a very busy location. They work you to the bone, management doesn't care about you (often we'd get yelled at, cussed at etc. Had a customer ask if I was okay once) Pay is low if your a waitress but tips can be pretty good. Never think your getting out at a reasonable time. Schedules outside of availability all the time.
ProsDiscounted food, Fun people
ConsBad environment, long nights, no breaks, bad scedules
Productive and fun
I had a fun time here because of the people. This job put me through grad school. It was a fast paced environment with lots of side work to do but it was worth it because the people were always fun to work with. Everyday was a different experience and you get to meet some really unique people.
Great Coworkers, horrible management
not much else to say. customer service sucks in general. If you are a student or have no bills to pay but want some extra cash, work there part time. But if you need a steady income, look for something else.
