Employment at Bechtel
The overall experience is overwhelming. From the moment you are hired you are a part of not only a team, but a family. If you get the chance to get an interview, go.

My Career at Bechtel Corporation
In 1987 I moved to MD, and obtained employment at Bechtel. Before moving to MD, I worked in a nursing home and processed payroll. I started in employee accounts and during my 8 years at Bechtel I received many promotions, each coming with new responsibilities. The managers noticed If you were a dedicated employee, proficient, worked well with your co-workers, you had the opportunity to advance. Bechtel also had flex time, you could start 2 hours before or 2 hours after your regular worktime.
Before receiving a management position, I had already had experience in Employee Accounts, Accounts Payable, Payroll, 4782 forms and W-2 Corrections. During my supervisory time I took on another challenge. I now needed to understand Billings. I helped out in General Ledger, when time permitted.. I enjoyed the opportunities to be able to learn all aspects of Accounting. To work with a large Accounting group. The hardest part of the job was keeping my staff working together as a team, Balancing the workload for each employee. My team consisted of employees that processed accounts payable, employee accounts, and billings. Unfortunately in 2005 Bechtel moved the Accounting Department to Phoenix Arizona.

Productive place to work
Loved working for the company and the people I worked with. Did not like the downs of the oil and gas industry. Bechtel takes care of they’re employees. Bechtel provides weekly meals such as breakfast or lunch. Provides binding outlets such as team get togethers.

I learned how to write & track purchasing orders for several departments, and assisted with managing a budget for payroll.
The management I worked with depended heavily on my capability to work independently.
The hardest part of my job is having to say goodbye to everyone now that the project is coming to an end.
The most enjoyable part of my job was having a team that expressed their appreciation of all the work I helped them with.

Fast paced, diverse culture. I found most co-workers to be very welcoming , professional and supportive. There were always deadlines, so this was not your typical 8-5 job and required alot of overtime.

Good entry level company
If you are looking for a somewhat stable job that pays the bills this is it. Upwards promotion is difficult at best unless you are related to corporate.

Great Technology; Great Inspirational People with many experiences
I worked for BEPOS (Bechtel/Point of Service) in early 2000 as a Coordinator in the HR area to assist Managers/Directors to bring in candidates for positions, that they were
interested in interviewing and possibly hiring for specific projects.
So, as a result, which, I personally loved, everything was done on
the computer, with no paper. What a joy!
I worked with Construction, Engineering, Technology, and Information Technology areas. My position involved contacting the person of contact for the department, the candidate
being considered for the position, and basically, getting the travel for
the candidate and the interview in place and everything coordinated for
the company and the candidate. This involved starting with the place of origin of the candidate to the company and back to the candidate's homebase. Also, I was responsible
for HRIS tracking program information and data as well.
