Challenging environment due to recent layoffs and sale of businesses
Challenging environment due to recent layoffs and sale of businesses. That said good products and people with opportunities for strong future growth. Well positioned in business aircraft market going forward. Strong Customer Support organization.

Site is moving so environment is changing.
BT has been a good place to work with many challenging projects that allow for personal development and career growth. The compensation is generally good. The work environment has been good, but may change due to the site moving.
ProsInteresting projects.
ConsUncertainty with the offices moving and overall company reorganization.

no good place to be, NOT in Wichita
Best to find another place to work, rather than Bombardier SITE in Wichita. . BA just doesn't think of developing this site. It is a necessary evil in Bombardier's Management, to have location for Flight testing and Nice weather for Test Airplanes to exist in.
ProsNice safe town to live in
ConsThe Management, work life balance and poor job security

Good benefits and pay
Typical aircraft mfg. Long hours and overtime, constantly subject to layoffs or employee reductions. Headquarters are in Canada. Some good leadership. Some good employees. Although a union shop not that difficult of an environment to work in.

Flight Instructor | Dallas-Fort Worth, TX | Nov 8, 2019
Fun and exciting. Got to talk airplanes all day and they paid me to do it.
Started as an instructor in the Lear 31A. Got checked out by the FAA to train and check pilots earning their initial type rating in four jets (Lear 31A, Challenger604, 605, and 650.) Got to fly the real airplane on occasion. Once to Hawaii for 10 days. Job security was based on your ability to provide quality training and giving fair and complete check rides. To me that was the easy part. Hours were usually not bad. Ground school lasted two days of 8 hours each for recurrent training or 19 days times 8 hours for initial training. Simulator training was a six hour block with four hours In the simulator with one break plus a one hour brief and one hour debrief plus paperwork to document results. Typically worked 3-5 days a week. Salaried.

Terrible place to work canadians were too abusive
this is a company I would never work with again, manager lie cheat and steal to make themselves look better for there peers, and no issue with throwing you under the bus even if you hear them, it was the worst and most stressful contract I have ever worked. and was glad when it was over.
Prosnone
Consabusive to there contract employees

Team working is important and on time delivery
It’s nice to work among people that give the best and others believe that their friendship will be best working around. It will be a plus for the company to supply a form that could detail job completed on a daily basis so in order that tracking and a update to the Customer

Questions And Answers about Bombardier

If you were in charge, what would you do to make Bombardier a better place to work?
Asked Feb 16, 2017
Don't put up with the back- biting politics. Many direct and certain contract employees use lies or point fingers to save their own a**. Many a good employee can be, or is lost this way (if you are contract, and not protected by the union). It's ridiculous. Know your facts first, management. It's like being a high school girl out there. Get competent management. It's good to know the information you recieved is correct first, before acting. This quickly turns the working environment into chaos! This is a great company. I would hate to see it fail because of a few (he said she said). Bombardier has some of the best, experienced, people out there in the world's aviation. Utilize them.
Answered Mar 3, 2020
Hire a CIO and give them all the financial backing to update technology. Then I would make the strategic plan align with the KPI’s of each department in which they don’t conflict.
