The most enjoyable part of the job

Good Place for a first job, but definitely move on from here
A typical day, depending on which department you work and how busy it is, can be very relaxed or very stressful. There is a very inconsistent style of management from day to day, because you will most likely have a different manager each day. Most of the managers are young, have no prior management experience and often go on a power trip. The hardest part of the job is dealing with the stressful busy times of the year. The most enjoyable part of the job however is the people you meet and the friends you make. They are the ones that make the job worth coming to everyday.
ProsFree movies, Discounts
ConsMany restrictions on benefits, low pay, long hours/late nights

Fun environment with decent benefit options
When it is not busy, it is incredibly slow. Be prepared for the extremes and always find something to do to fill time and help the company. This includes cleaning, restocking, preparing for the next rush, and perimeter checks.
ProsIt's the movies!
Conscleaning up after other people, low pay

productive and fun workplace with viable discounts
It was a fun day working with all of my co workers. Only thing that made the job stressful was the rushes that we would get at the concession stand and box office. overall it was a fun place to work at
Prosdiscounts on concessions
Consshort breaks, minimum pay

Exciting and Fun
A typical day consists of working in a friendly environment with other staff and management. On busy premier days it's important to be consistent with customer satisfaction as well as safety. A fun perk of being a staff member here in being able to use your employee pass to see a movie for free. Some days are fast paced which helps you develop quick responses to solve an issue or help the day go smoothly.

Fun job if you have a good work ethic
As long as youre able to do your job well, then working at Cinemark can be a lot of fun, and employees are usually friends after a few shifts. Generally, management is able to prepare for large movie releases, so while work can get stressful it's rarely, if ever, impossible
Pros50% Discount while working, free tickets for you and a guest
ConsNo discount while off the clock
Ticket Sales Representative | Playa Vista, CA | Jun 5, 2018
the most enjoyable part of the job
most of the other employees are also movie fans so there is great conversation with your fellow employees and that makes them easy to work with. I also enjoy having regulars come into the theater because they are always nice and easy to take to and usually a joy to serve.
Usher/Ticket Taker | Texarkana, TX | Apr 23, 2018
Very fun work environment, loved all the people i worked with including every single one of the managers
I loved working here, honestly i didnt want to leave the business, i recentely relocated to florida but the nearest cinemark was too far away. It is a fun environment that included flexible hours, inscreased pay wvery six months and with room to move up if you worked hard enough and the GM was absolutely awesome.
ProsFree movies and discount on concessions if you work that day.
Cons30 minutes breaks and it can be stressful at times

Nice job
Working at Cinemark is decent. Most of the employees are in high school, so during school hours I tend to work a lot, so I make decent hours. I also enjoy the people, they're easy to get along with, and the managers are easy to talk to.

Asked Sep 1, 2017
Make sure your employees know they are valued and not replaceable.
Answered Feb 11, 2020
Would you consider good customer experience to be closing the box office before the previews to the last movie have ended or even worse whenever the manager on duty feels like it (like 5 minutes after the last movie's previews have started when customer expects at least 10)? What about if customer presented Guest Pass (given because of prior problems at theater) and was told that is not a ticket, first by the Security Guard who threatens to call police and then by Assistant Manager who closed the Box Office early?
