Delivery Driver | Las Vegas, NV | Apr 8, 2019
Worst job EVER!
Working as a delivery driver for this company on normal days would suffice, as long as their transit is well maintained. But the holidays are terrible, you are given more work than humanly possible, my experience was not good. I was given transit that was leaking gas fumes into the cabin, this happened 3 times before the truck got in an accident by another driver and only then was it replaced. Otherwise it would have been no different. They kept saying the transit had been checked by their mechanic and nothing was found. After my many complaints to fix the issue, as I was inhaling gas fumes and getting sick, they decided to cut back on my hours. For 3 weeks I had no work schedule, I spoke to my manager about seeking other employment to balance the time off, they encouraged me to find other work and said they would work with me to keep my position with the Flamingo/Decatur stores. I also want to mention that the store employees were allowed to sleep on the job, there were many times I came back to pick up added deliveries during the day, and the store employees were sleeping in the back room of the store. They were messy making the arrangements as well, they did not always leave the store looking crisp and clean. I applied for work with another Edible Arrangements owned by another person, as they are a franchise. This was the Las Vegas/Lake Mead store owner. This seemed a better store to work for at first, but I was in a car accident on New Years day, by a man w

GREAT LOOK INTO CUSTOMER SERVICE AND BUSINESS REALITY
A typical day at Edible Arrangements consists of phone calls to take orders for customers, helping co-workers with daily tasks, and preparations for holidays and days to come. One thing to learn quick is that the customer is ALWAYS RIGHT and communication between co-workers and management IS KEY to a happy healthy work environment and overall success of business. Edible Arrangements is an overall fun experience. High school students and people looking to learn more on how to run a business/ franchise should take advantage. Hours and pay are reasonable for the easy work, but holidays can be hectic. The worst part of the job would be the holiday hours, but if you love the work and have good communication with co-workers, a fun and organized day will help pass the time. The extra hours in pay is a plus. The best part of the job is absolutely the customers. Having great communication skills will make customer service easy. Always smile, and remember that the customer is always right. I absolutely love talking to customers and making their experience with the company as easy and as fun as possible. With the dream of owning my own business one day, I would never treat someone in a way I would not want to be treated. Being on both the giving and receiving end of customer service, I know what is good and what is bad. No one wants to walk into a store or office with a negative atmosphere. Be welcoming and answer all possible questions fully to give that customer the b

Decent place, just needs new management.
Came in at 9 AM and processed fruits (involved skewering, cutting and refrigerating). Dipped various fruits in chocolate, wrapped finished products and cleaned various kinds of tools. The working area was completely clean and organized. This was due in part to the assistant manager, although that is where the good habits ended. This assistant manager spent too much time making personal calls and texts on her phone; ironically enough, as I was reading the company manual on no cell phones allowed while working, I could hear her making two calls on her cell, both of which were personal. Not only did the manager and assistant manager make it known that "We don't tell you when you're doing a good job, we just tell you when you're not", they made remarks, often prone to outbursts as to how dumb some of the other employees were for not doing a good enough job. It made me uneasy as to what they would say about me when I wasn't there. Their attitude about customers was the same. The atmosphere between the two of them felt as though they both were really tired of working there. The manager was nice, despite the outbursts, but never discussed wages so I had to ask a few days after employment began what I'd be making an hour. He also didn't understand the W4 form well and couldn't answer my questions. As for the assistant manager, she was border-lined friendly. She once informed me "I'm not a nice person unless you're my friend". She easily lost patience. And she placed a note on th

This was my experience with franchise, not corporate
Unfortunately, I think this was a doomed venture from the start. I had never worked for a franchise before, so I don't know if my experience was typical or a fluke. The first 3 weeks were great. I was learning, I was enjoying myself, and the people there were great. After the second week however, it was another story. Another manager in training hurt herself and couldn't work, so she called me to come in on a Sunday, my day off. We arranged it between ourselves to get me her store key so I could work. While I understand that this wasn't the "proper" way to work this thing out, and the owner was understandably upset at the whole exchange, the shift was covered and the store was fine. We both got a slap on the wrist and everything was fine. Until the other girl told the owner she couldn't work at all until she got surgery. She was acting as our closer, so they would have to make some hasty decisions. What happened was they chose to TELL me, not ASK me, that I would be working nights until we could hire and train the right person for the job. Mind you, I had already lost 1 day off to a partial shift, and was looking at 6 hours a day, 7 days a week for an indeterminate amount of time. Not a big deal for a high school kid, but for someone with a new baby and a desire to have a day or 2 off during the week this was not going to work. This was my 4th week working here. Upon telling them that I was unwilling to work partial shifts and would like time off in a week, or would do 6

Easy way to get some cash around Valentine's & Mother's Day
I applied as a Valentine's Day week temp at various Edible Arrangement locations. The application process was super simple (just sending in my resume on Indeed, no extra surveys or lengthy online application). Onboarding was a breeze. The Edible Arrangement locations that I worked at paid under the table, so there was no lengthy verification process. It was refreshing that I didn't have to worry about paying taxes, particularly since that would have eaten into the already low-pay ($9 an hour). It's not great money, but since I was unemployed, it at least gave me a tiny bit of income to fill up my gas tank and buy food while I did my job search. Don't count on getting a lot of hours, however. If the holiday rush doesn't come to fruition and there are less orders than anticipated, they may reduce your hours or cut out one or more days entirely. The holiday temps get the simple tasks that don't require much training since you are thrown right in. For me, this included washing berries, sorting them by size, and putting them on skewers. Briefly I dipped some berries in chocolate as well. I also had the opportunity to dress up as a strawberry on the corner of the road to advertise for Edible Arrangement's. All in all, working for Edible Arrangements is much more pleasant than doing fast food or retail. Of the low wage jobs I've held, it was probably the most enjoyable. You could get into a nice little rhythm sorting the fruit. I liked that people usually ordered ahe

Fun Place to Work For If They Let You Do the Job They Hired You For
I was hired on to work in the store (make arrangements, cut the fruit, work the front of the store, etc.). But the day after I started my boss called me and asked if I wanted to be the delivery driver for two weeks and two weeks only. I agreed because it wasn't gonna be my official role. Plus I was told I'd be working in the store on weekends too. Well I rode with a delivery driver for one day, and the next day was told I now had to drive alone. I was told how to work the app they used to make the deliveries, but that's it. I'm not sure what else they could've done, but I've had friends who have had jobs as delivery drivers and they received two weeks of training in the vehicle. So I made the deliveries on my own. There were a few addresses I could not find, but I couldn't return back to the store until they were delivered. I had to deliver one to downtown and I told my boss I was very uncomfortable because I didn't know how to navigate myself, and had been trying to find this place for two hours. She told me to suck it up and find the place. Then the next day the fridge in the back of the van broke, and I didn't notice it until I had gotten out of the van to make my next delivery. I immediately texted my boss and returned to the store. They had began to melt a little bit (chocolate was on the plastic). She told me to make the rest of the deliveries in my personal vehicle. Mind you, my car is old and doesn't have the best AC, and I told her that. Needless to say all 5 arrange

The job isnt bad but there were some issues
First of all I know every Edibles store is different I worked at a coporate owned one. The workers were good all nice people diverse work place and everyone worked well as a group. Managment how ever was unproffesional and quite fankly childish. The manager was in their early twenties and ran the store like a high school. I will say the manager was efficient when starting but began a power trip seeing what he could get away with (never had a uniform to work, would make innappropriate comments about all the employees behind their backs). As far as advancment goes at Edibles what I have seen you need to know some one really well higher up. Employees working there for years never got a raise as a matter a fact my starting pay was higher than theirs. Coporate is very unorganized people from coporate had me driving out of my territory to do their personal deliveries which is unethical to do since it was a franchises territory. I will say not everyone in corporate is unethical there are some nice people high up but like with any company some people up high will try and throw their weight. The most unethical part of the company was the lay offs which I will explain. In the off season when hours were cut people were told they may be needed after weeks off and months in some cases same story. With bills to pay and no way to collect unemployment I found that appauling. When confronted the manager continued to string everyone along he appeared to be too afraid to lay anyone off clearl

Place for people who want money with no effort.
Edible Arrangement's is by far the easiest job I have ever worked at. Literally all the "work" consists of chores I've been made to do from the ages 5 to 14. Cutting fruit, answering the phone, and cleaning (wiping things down, sweeping, mopping, throwing trash away). These are independently owned so they can be hit or miss with the quality of product, service, and management. Sadly, and probably like many other jobs, the work is so easy that people get complacent. Coworkers feel entitled because of the "work" they do when in reality, it is their bare minimum effort. Management takes no notice of wrongdoings, in fact my manager doesn't even come in everyday. Safe to say if he does come in at all that week, it's only for 30min-1hour. Coworkers take full advantage of it. Day usually starts at 8:00AM (should be 7:30am....management doesnt notice) with prepping the fruit for use (should be done the day before by the way...). Usually only takes an hour or so and then the arrangements get made, which timing varies on volume of orders. Then cleaning and the day is basically over. 8:00AM - Day starts. 11:00AM - Most, if not all, production of arrangements is done. 12:00PM - 1:00PM - Day ends If you're the type of person who likes to benefit off of other people's work and effort, Edible Arrangements is perfect for you. If you want an easy part time job roughly looking at under 25 hours per week at basically minimum wage, Edible Arrangements is for you.
ProsEasy work(for those of you who like that kind of thing....), Flexible work schedule(may and most likely will depend on location, so not really a pro)
ConsBasically everything, Management, Hours, Training, No set rules/procedures, NO benefits, Minimum Wage, Pay raises are neglible, Don't aquire skills from this job that can help later

Franchise- Owner doesn't care for employees, no longevity
Worked my butt off for the company. They offer 1 week paid vacation after 1 year of service, demand long hours during peak periods of the year and upper management/owner shows favoritism. There is no work life balance, no human empathy, no investing in employees. It is easier to find a more suitable job then to get a promotion within this company. If you ARE promoted, expect to be fired or have your pay cut for minor infractions shortly thereafter. I have seen it countless times- regardless of prior performance a minor mistake will cost you your job. I was with the company for 3 years, and in the 3 years I was there the only employees/coworkers who were still with the company for longer than a year was low-level production staff (8-9/hour). I received raises based on my work ethic, I went 2 years with no raises, then was raised 2 dollars in a single year- less than two months after my most recent pay raise my position was terminated and I was offered a part-time job at another location. When I left the company I was the SECOND longest employee on staff. Less than 6 months after I left, I learned that the senior manager (employed 8 years) quit as did the person who was hired directly after I was. That leaves the company with NO one who has been there for more than a single year. If you are looking for an unstable, unappreciative job this would be the one for you. If you are a lower-level employee (CSR, Production) you're probably ok. The owner doesn't mess with production as i

Take never give.
Just know every single holiday for the whole week you’ll be working in a small kitchen with about 10-15 other people who are just temps because their to cheap to hire regular staff which is about 13 people between 2 stores including managers. EVERYONE works alone besides for about 2 hours in the day where someone will come do the easy work and peels out on normal days. So while your taking orders from the phone plus the computer you’ll have walk ins as well. It seems like a pleasant job but it’s really not. I thought It’d be a nice place for me as I am very creative and enjoy customer service but this ompany takes advantage of all their employees pays min wages even though Dartmouth makes you relocate to Fall River at least once a week. They’ll say schedule will be given a week in advance... Everyone receives schedule Friday in a group text to come in for Sunday or Monday which is not even 48hrs notice and to top it all off because of this issue the “owners” will text throughout the week changing shifts AGAIN. People have life’s, children and they really just do not care not one bit. My grandmother died and they STILL wanted me to go in the day of her wake. Also they’ll put you down for not doing something right but then go right behind you and do the same if not worse. Last but not least there’s a person who does not wear gloves most of the time they’re there “voluntarily” for holidays and is extremely rude but because this person is family it doesn’t matter what this person
ProsYou work alone unless holiday week
ConsYou just another number to them, min wage, relocate
