Productive, good technologies used, good people to work with
enjoyed working at Expedia. Challenging in a good way, good management, great coworkers, great benefits. Modern technologies, relatively good pay, work life balance. Great new campus

Hard work was not rewarded
Management worked you extremely hard by setting unrealistic targets.
You were not allowed to suggest improvements but blindly follow management directives.
I felt like I was working on a slave ship with someone at the front of the vessel keeping the speed of the work continual by beating a drum.
Getting faster all the time.
With hindsight it was a very poor company to work for.

Great work/life balance
Management needs to be replaced to make this a better place to work. Campus is great and so are benefits.
If you have a strong bias for action, look elsewhere

Consummate pathological prevaricators
Evidence based excerpt of actual events during my three years in Fraud Ops.
Management devoid of soft skills and leadership qualities.
Promotions based on office politics
Lack of transparency and support
Verbally and psychologically abusive management immune to consequences
Reported my boss to HR for abuse. Nothing was done.
Unfair; mid year review: Exceeds expectations; End of year review: Meets expectations This in spite of weekly 1-1's where I was never told my performance was slipping and thus not given the chance to improve
People selected for training are brain damaged as are those who selected them for the task.
Lack of integrity, honesty, support at all levels.
Management covers for one another, making sure any abuse or dissatisfaction is swept under the carpet.
The 10 year anniversary was marred by an expletive laden narrative and Q & A session with the CEO and the SLT. At one point in time and employee asked the following question to the CEO and the SLT: "Hello, would you consider re-instating merit based stock options for FTE's in the future? Thank you.
Answer: "Why would we want to do that? What makes you think you or anyone else is good enough for that?
Cheap; below average salaries.
I have worked 32 days without a day off to cover for a Senior Analyst. My boss only said:"You messed up, I found 5 mistakes! You are 99.95% accurate; how do you plan to improve on that? Hmm?
Never any good feedback. They are snipers, looking to flame mail anyone they c...more
ProsPaid on time
ConsCEO, SLT, management, lack of morals and ethics, malignant psychopaths, abuse, stress and low rate of pay

Best of the Big 5
I have worked at 3 of the big five technology companies. I have friends that have work at the other 2 that I have not. We often compare work environments and employer relationships. Bar none, we all agree Expedia is the best place to work. They take care of their employees like no other.

Not an employee focused company anymore
New CEO focused on bottom line of employees. Didn't use to be that way. The current market will make this a tough place to be for quite a long time to come.

Expedia was a great place to work with the exception to the mishandling and misleading approach to any kind of employee leave , whether it be for bereavement or medical emergency any kind of unplanned leave was frowned upon and usually resulted in corrective action or unemployment no matter the case or the person.
Prosgreat work environment and perks
Consbad HR practices

It was ok. The location is prime in summerlin. No covered parking, so it does get hot in the summer. Plus they have an xbox and small store on site. You can also leave for lunch.
