Good to gain experience
It's a good place to work to gain experience. I worked a lot of hours there. We started out with 5 CSP's,but after a few weeks I was the only one left, so I got all the hours and work load. I was also the Office Marketing Ambassador.I was in charge of the weekly marketing calendar and expected to get at least 5 leads a week, do good neighboring with other businesses, & set up side walk tables with marketing materials.Minimal pay.

Great company, great team, terrible pay
The pay is awful. However I love the flexibility and the team I work with. It’s sad to know that fast food workers and retail are paid more than myself when I have 20 years as tax professional services during the off-season. During tax season we are paid fairly. But during the off season we deal with lots of tax notices, complex returns, and more for very minimal pay.

Administrative Office Assistant
Opening the office getting setup for the day. Put on the coffee for the employees and clients. While the coffee is brewing. I go to set up my computer. to check it for the day appointments and prepare the clients folders for tax services. I set up the fresh coffee station for the clients, checked the office to make sure it's clean and looking professional. Then I make courtesy calls to remind clients of there upcoming appointments and update the appointment schedule with new ones. Than I open the cash drawer to make sure I have enough to process cash, checks and credit card transaction.

Flexible hours
Working for this company is a great opportunity to learn how to prepare taxes and all the laws as they relate to taxes. Having knowledge of both business/ individual financial operations is an asset in that it helps you with both working ability and privately

Awesome place to work.
The people that work there treat you like family. Everyone works together to meet our goals. We give each other kudos for each one's accomplishments. We help each other get the previous clients a reminder call of the appointment and to verify that they have the documents they need to bring in.
ProsAll have work
ConsNot enough hours in the day to help every client.

Everyone is helpful and supportive. The more effort you put in the quicker the advancement . Most clients have been going to the same office for years and it's like working with family
Administrative Assistant | Lynchburg, VA | May 24, 2018
This is a sales oriented, accountable culture, but is a seasonal position. You need a strong work ethic to work here. You must be able to talk to and interview people and be responsible for all due diligence.
Prosworks with your availability

Not all offices are the same
Overall being with the customers was the best part of the job. I didn't interact with others I did my job and went home. Some managers were very rude, an had their picks an chooses.

Questions And Answers about H&R Block

What would you suggest H&R Block management do to prevent others from leaving?
Asked Mar 18, 2017
This is my 1st year working in team leadership our numbers rose weee doing things to draw customers we handle every situation hands on I include my team upon opening I gave my team a list of set expectation and we handle each issue as a team most of my tax pros and front desk operations want to return. I have suggested all the ones lacking tax pro experience sit through case studies and learn what's going on my front desk know the expected job. We love our team and want to better ourselves to serve clients above expectation.

Hr block and all other tax offices should be paying all the processing agents $20 an hour. The manager makes like almost $100,000 or more. Its just highway robbery they charge each text paying customer hundreds of dollars to process their tax return and most of the time they're paying 10 or $11 to the processing agent. Demand a minimum of $20 per return or don't work for these greedy people.

How do you feel about going to work each day at H&R Block?
Asked Apr 20, 2017
I work at a location in southern California, I personally love my job 110%! I am the receptionist and I get paid I would say well over minimum. The tax pros and team that I have are honestly some of my favorite coworkers I've had. Everybody gets along and everything is organized and ready. This is my favorite Job I've had, my manager is somebody I can always depend on.... Also as a student they're beyond flexible. Just my experience!
