Worst Job I have had in my long career!
I got interviewed for one job and the VP decided that I did not have enough service desk experience (Even though I have either been part of one or in one for the last 20 years. They then went and offered me a job that paid $35K less per year! I laughed at them and they came up another $20K. I accepted the offer since I needed to work (I felt like a bait and switch had happened). Without notice and 5 days before I was supposed to start I get an email that as agreed upon tomorrow will be your DOJ....I asked what is DOJ and they said tomorrow (sic). I finally asked again what it meant and they said 'Day of Joining'. News to me! I arrive the next morning and no one is there to greet me when my manager shows up he has no way of verifying my I9, I do not have an employee ID or a laptop and asks me if I own one? He sends me home. The next day I finally get my I9 verified and then in the afternoon I get my ID. No onboarding and I sit around for a week doing nothing, finally get my laptop and start self onboarding. I called HR with my concerns and they basically laughed at me and told me they would get back to me. I have never heard back from them. I was put on an impossible transition project and given tasks to do that I do not know how to do. I have very little direction and I and for the first time in my career I am failing at my job and absolutely hating it and am the most stressed I have been all of my life.
ProsGreat Health care
ConsNo on-boarding, no training, no HR support, No Work Life Balance, poor pay!

The worst company I ever worked for
They went through a battery of interviews and promised many things, After hired I was moved to Chicago from California, I had to finance the company for the moving expenses that they had promised to pay themselves. When they reinbursed me they took taxes out if it an I never got the pay stub for that.
They told me not to show up for work the day before the assignment was to start, they kept me without work although as an employee for two months. Then they laid me off and left me stranded in Chicago when they got me from Southern California. I had to come back on my own at my own expense.
They did not provide me with all the pay stubs and I do not have a way to compare the W2 that came in May of the following year with the stubs, besides when I was asking for the pay stubs they gave me a spreadsheet with a set of numbers that do not match the W2.
My supervisor was in India and not in the USA. I had to pay for the calls to talk to him. Since they did not give me an assignment I stayed at the hotel waiting for a real job. Never came back and they only paid 10 days of hotel. The worst company I have seen in my life.
They never gave me any onboarding training and after a week there they called and asked why I did not fill the time card. They promised a computer for me to work, never came. I did not have proper access to their portal. Really bad.
ProsGood medical insurance.
ConsEvery administrative and organizational thing.

They do not pay you, and when you are promised a raise after getting promoted, that raise doesn’t happen even after years pass
I have worked for HCL America for almost 3 years now, and at first it seemed like a normal company, normal job. I started off as a call-taker, and it was easy and pay seemed reasonable. Time passes and I’ve been in a leadership role for 2 years now (I’m a training manager). Early in 2019 they started hiring level 1 techs at a higher rate, but refused to increase the pay for leadership at all - meaning there are QA and Leads (who do way more work than a call-taker) that are making WAY less pay! We banded together and kept getting told “oh we’ll give everyone raises, just wait” and months and MONTHS pass yet still no raise, we just keep getting told to wait. I have a feeling that we are never going to be compensated appropriately. I’m any case, the pay is not even the worst of it all. Management is AWFUL. They do not listen, do not care, and are honestly never even around. One of the managers goes off and plays Pokémon Go during business hours instead of managing his team. Communication does not exist. I can’t even begin to explain how awful the communication is here. So many times have things gone wrong because management never tells anyone anything - or management doesn’t even KNOW anything that’s going on.

It's a job.
--SOME projects/Help Desks are different.
My project has several Help Desks with 24x7x365 coverage.
The project & Help Desk I support:
-It's all about creating the tickets.
-Training is minimal.
-They pile on more for you to support with training being non-existent.
-KnowledgeBase articles are not updated with new information, needed articles for reference are often removed while having several for the same issue with conflicting information.
-Off-hours and weekends: rather than staff the different Help Desks according to the number of calls that come in, they expect Support people to take calls and give support for all the Help Desks regardless what Help Desk you actually work on - I work on 1 Help Desk and actually try to provide support for 7 Help Desks - without any training. .Do your best using the KnowledgeBase articles and ask your coworkers for help..
Make sure you are not late coming back from breaks -And make sure you go to the bathroom during your own breaks.
All this without wanting to pay a decent salary.
Shift differentials & overtime and I'm still trying to make $40k/yr.
ProsFree coffee/tea/hot chocolate
ConsLow pay and the job continually gets harder due to changes & inconsistencies.

My direct manager is awesome! My SDM also awesome! These two guys know how to manage a team well. Unhappy with the raises. It’s a joke. Low balled based on my experience. But higher than my previous positions by a good amount ( only reason I accepted the position ). Benefits where amazing but sucked when they switched to United heath care. 401k contributions dollar for dollar is really low percentage. Hate that you get a pool of paid days off to be used for any time you are out of the office regardless of reason. Should be separated sick pool, paid time off pool, etc.
Highly unstructured. Undocumented. Left to figure out things on your own. And when you build a structure people get mad and end up tearing it down. Very reactive company too. They let a fire (problem) start before they reacte instead of killing the fire before it starts.
Like every company there are pros and cons. But the cons in my perticular case out weigh the pros.
I would recommend hcl as a stepping stone so it speak. A job but not a career. They have potential they just refuse to listen and want to run things there way. Which in this case makes them lose stars instead of gaining them.

This job is not thru HCL but thru KRG Technologies Inc.
I was very excited to start at HCL. I interviewed and spoke to many management employees none said anything about the fact that you are not getting hired by HCL, you are getting hired at a temp agency called KRG Technologies Inc. HCL states in the requirements that you must be proficient in English, however nobody at the temp agency can even be understood due to their very strong India accent. They never identify themselves when calling unless you demand to know who is calling they do not understand things that they 100% should to be a temp agency in the USA. I just would have liked HCL to make me aware of how I was being hired before I was half way through with my first day... Just be careful and don't get deceived by what is going on... I am working for a temp agency I have no idea where it is, who has my personal information that is legally private via a government program. This just makes HCL look very bad and I am hoping I t just looks that way. I am so upset I was so deceived in the hiring process.
ConsNo PTO, benefits, or anything stated due to being hired by the temp agency and being temped out to HCL.

Underhanded and Skeevy Company
Having worked for many contractors in the past, I can say that HCL has been one of the worst.
Many of the workers I'm with have had delayed or outright forgotten pay days. Job advancement is promised but rarely followed through on in a timely manner, if at all. Those that get job advancement have the pay rendered in bonuses rather than a strict raise (for tax shenanigans on the HCL side of things) Pay is as low as legally possible (or illegally possible if they can get away with it). Multiple workers have been denied sick or disability leave and have been fired when they press for it (usually under the veil of worker non-compliance) Workers were fired for attempting to unionize when upper management caught wind of it.
The contractors who work for them operate as an inclusive familial unit, unified by the fact that the company feels like it's out to get them.
In short, if you can avoid working for this group, you should. If you can't, lean on your contractor cohorts for support, and look for a better contracting group to work for while you are here.

Working as a Team sharing knowledge maintained a good productive environment
Work from home using ServiceNow to manage and resolve incidents assigned such as build Windows 2008 and 2012 VMs, ESXi Host servers on UCS blades configuring network and migrating them into vCenter 6.5. Create.mount/unmount datastore and increase lun size. Manage and troubleshoot oncall issue on Cisco Chassis and blades use UCS Console. Troubleshoot any environmental issues within vCenter. Upgrade ESXi Host, install patches, upgrade vmtools and hardware using VMware Update Manager. I am a Systems Administrator Lead managing six associates in on call activities using xMatters. There was a issue with ServiceNow CMDB not associating application owner with server. After sending email to support group in the server Local Administrators group problem was resolved. I enjoy working at HCL because of the work environment team players and the various training offered. Upper Management is always available to assist and support in any given situation.

Good opportunity work place
At HCL, I’ve acquired a good understanding of the global outsourcing and IT services business. I’ve gained exposure to the challenges and pressures of delivering in a growing environment and changing customer expectations. Identifying IT sourcing strategies and executing the same at a large scale gave me good perspective and maturity.
These roles have helped me see business from different perspectives and helped me develop sensitivity to both customer and organizational needs. The conflict management, constant negotiations and an emphasis on profitability have given me a far more mature understanding of the overall business environment. These experiences have also helped evolve my soft skills such as leadership and teamwork, vastly enhancing my effectiveness in work and life.
ProsFree hand to design and deliver
Consmanagement and phylosphy changes too quick and too rapid

Do yourself a favor and run from this place
Management is a joke. Favoritism and micromanagement are the law of the land. The company is struggling to the point that payroll checks are late. The last group of new hires were not paid for over 30 days and some had to contact the labor board for help. Raises are non existent and the systems are so bad it impedes your ability to do your job. The internet is so slow that some programs wont even work. Any type of office supplies like pens and paper are locked up and only given out with a request. There is no opportunity for advancement and employees are not valued at all. The office went with out A/C for two months over the summer. At the time the ice machine was broken also. The building is falling apart. There are water leaks daily and it smells like sewage. It is an Indian owned company. If you want a dead end job in a terrible work environment this is your place.
