Productive work place, with harsh enviroment that was often short staffed.
I would come in at 4 a.m. most mornings and start mixing dough to get the day started, I would also cut and pan biscuits and cinnamon pull aparts, and place them in the cooler until they needed to be cooked then buttered and put up where designated. I did this the way company policy stated. I would usually spend most of my first 2 hours when first arriving only making biscuits and sometimes pull aparts. When I had both coolers full, I would make sure any dirty dishes were washed and set to dry, then start working on my prep. for the day. Making ham portions, panning bacon, and also preparing the taco shells, and salad bowls made from tortillas. I often had to pause from duties to work the fryers as needed for chicken and steak (sometimes other things fellow team members couldn't immediately get too). I would cook the biscuits and bacon in the oven for there designated times, and place them in designated area's on the line, for the line cooks while letting them know when I was coming near with hot pans. (while cooking anything whether it be a minute timer or a longer one, I would immediately head to another task or duty, listening for my timers to ensure food did not burn) When biscuits or pull aparts got low, I would mix and prepare more dough to go in the coolers (often having to pause to perform other duties as listed above, or to help other team members). I also was the only person stationed on dishes and would be back and forth, so I did a lot of sprinting to and from dif

I started working at Hardee's 5 days before my 16th birthday I am 18 now and I am a shift leader. This coming July I will have worked at Hardee's for 3 years just to get me through high school and for when I go to college I will still be able to pay my bills. The General Manager is absolutely amazing on working around people's schedules and the days they need off. But the GM also keeps hiring back employees that have quit for multiple reasons, two of the main people who keep walking all over him are the highest paid shift leaders who don't do their job and has their head in their phone all throughout the shift. Since most of the people who still work there worked with me when I was a regular employee they give me no respect. I get blamed by the District Manager for stuff I didn't even know happened, some of which are on days I have off. We never get any type of encouragement or even a "thank you" from the GM or the DM. We have a huge turnover rate of employees mainly from no call no shows, also it is a common problem of employees coming in 2 hours late at least with no warning at all and they do not get written up for it. We always have a skeleton crew of 3 people and sometimes even 2 including the manager on nights, if we are lucky during the summer we might get 4 people on a shift, and it's extremely rare to have 5 people on a shift. It took a while to get a raise. I went to college out of state for a semester and when I came back I was promoted to shift leader. I worked th
ProsAwesome GM more or less good coworkers, able to get overtime, laid back crew and managers. DM helpsbas much as possible, making friends with coworkers, 40+ hour weeks during the summer.
ConsNo breaks on night shift, may not able to leave until about 2 or 3 hours after close, less time with your family, attitude of employees and customers.
Fast work pace and great with working around employees schedules
At Hardee's I had to be a very quick worker. Normally, it was a very busy business so all employees worked hard to keep up with flow of business. I learned all jobs at Hardee's, like rolling biscuits, cooking, taking headset orders, keeping the front line clean and stocked, counting drawers and the safe, and how to keep the cooking area up to QA and health department standards. I came a shift leader there after working there for almost 3 years which I thought was unfair to me as I always worked hard but was left in a crew position although I was ready to move up and become a shift leader. Even then, though, my general manager did not do much work with me on running shifts and I never even ran one even though I had been a shift leader for about a year. In the almost 4 years I worked there I only received 3 raises because the GM did not do worker evaluations she just expected crew members to ask for their raise then she would decide on the spot whether the raise was deserved or not. Most of the people I worked with were great until the end of my work time there where there was a lot of drama and rumor spreading. I was harassed by a fellow co-worked while I was on the clock when the other person was not even scheduled to be at work that day. My last month with Hardee's I realized that the store was kind of like high school with all the drama and clicks that developed in the store. I began to hate my job because I did not feel like I was receiving opportunities I deserved after d
Allow me to preface my review by stating how much I love the company. Yes, it's a quick service restaurant. However, much of my professional and managerial experience came from here.
Hardee's allowed me a highly flexible schedule. As Shift Leader and Assistant Manager, you can get full time hours, which is great. There were three shifts: open, which was usually about 4 AM to 12 PM, mids, which was usually 8 AM to 4 PM, and closing, which was usually 2 PM to 10 or 11 PM. My General Manager had no problems scheduling around my school schedule.
The pay was average for a fast food restaurant. I felt it was fair for the job. Benefits were not offered (at the time of my employment) until you got General Manager. Pay schedule was bi-weekly. After I left the company, direct deposit was also introduced.
The workload varied depending on your crew, location, and the time of day (or date). Mornings are Hardee's bread and butter. Breakfast normally rakes in a ton of business and, as a result, can be very fast paced. Lunch is a little more subdued, and closing can get slow, which means it's an ideal time for cleaning.
I never had an issue with lack of coverage, whether that be my crew members not showing up or management not scheduling anyone. If you do your job and try to work hard, people will respect you here.
Promoting from within is a strong point with Hardee's. I started off as a Shift Leader, then was promptly promoted to Assistant Manager within 5 months (with a doll
ProsWork life balance, scheduling, opportunities for promotion, work environment, management

Don't work somewhere that doesn't see your potential and gifts raises to people who show up 2 hours late.
I worked at 3 different Hardee's locations in VA and I worked for the company for a year. Before I moved from the first location to the next, I was told I was being put in for a review for a raise (which I looked over and signed in the flesh) and then when I got to the second location, no raise. Was at the 2nd location for a month before moving on to my 3rd and final location, my manager at the second location said I was being put in for review for my deserved raise. Now I wasn't even at Hardee's but 4-5 months when I was told I was going to get my raise. I get to the 3rd location and stayed for about another 6 to 8 months and my manager at this 3rd location said she was going to give me my raise and make me crew trainer (since I started out as a cook and then turned into more of a cashier for front line). I never got my raise I was told 3 consecutive times I was going to receive and that was the final straw. I would've stayed longer and put up with management's unfairness to employees who show up more than the ones who were there for a paycheck. I was rotating cashier, cook, and to assist drive thru on the most hectic days and there only being 2 people working up front and the 2 people working in the back. Poor management, poor scheduling (which I had asked to stay in the hours I asked for and yet was deliberately given hours I did not ask for because it didn't work with my schedule outside of work), drive thru time was a constant issue every week because no one and I mean N
ProsI'd be too generous, if I gave any pros for a company who runs business like a circus, of frustration and disorganization
ConsRemotely everything, about the Hardee's management abilities, and the lack of trust and understanding on how to help people grow within a company.
I worked here over the course of six months. I was well on my way to managerial training. I was to the point that I was helping train other associates who were new. I had no issues with any managers up until my last month of employment.
She underwent managerial training in two weeks, and knew very little about the procedures. She would try and constantly correct me on things that I was doing correctly; she used offensive slurs (in regards to my intelligence). I informed management and they said they would "look into it", but nothing was ever done.
Drive times were implausible. Food often had to be prepared fresh and would take longer than the desired time to collect money, wrap food and have it through the window. There was such an emphasis put on this, but it was simply not a practical time given the types of orders they provide. (Ex: Hand-breaded chicken takes five minutes to prepare. The ideal drive-through card would be 3:30. Customers would rarely pull their vehicle ahead and wait, thus causing the time to increase, thus increasing the average.)
Labor seems to drop dramatically in the winter, as they offer little typical "hot food" items, like chilli or soup.
I was fired, supposedly, because I failed to meet the company's standards, but held the highest amount of positive feedback from customers. I was informed that a meeting with the store manager took place to inform me of this. It didn't.
They would schedule me during school, knowing perfectly well what they were

Nice Place to Start, but unless you want to be there forever, don't stick around
Based on when you are scheduled, you will work up front, taking, filling, and/or running out orders. Downtime is spent stocking on front line, the dining room, and the beverage bar. As well as basic cleaning in the same locations. You may also work on back line. This includes cook and chicken. The cook, if you couldn't tell, put the sandwiches together for the front to finish. Requires a bit of attention to detail for special or large orders. Chicken is also back line maintenance. Besides making chicken, they keep the back clean, wash dishes, clean fryers, and partially maintain inventory, making sure it isn't a mess. In the morning there is a person for prep. They prepare vegetables and portion various other foods for easy use. They also make biscuits for breakfast. Management is a little jumbled. Based on the work that the morning people come into, they can tell who was managing. Most of the managers are lenient. As long as the base work is done, you can go home. Once you get passed the grumpy and irritated, the people are generally nice. Tension can run a little high during busy hours and people tend to get frustrated. Too much work, too little time, when most of the time, they don't stay more than fifteen minutes to help the next shift. The hardest thing is cooking when it gets really busy, even worse when you're short people. Orders pile up and take a while to get out. If you can handle the pressure, it makes it a lot easier. The second would be working upfront when it ge

I worked there for a few months, the day I walked out many others joined me as well. Someone went into our clock in times and changed our hours. Many people where missing over $50 out of their checks. I was missing over $100, when I brought it up to the GM he said hed look into it. Another manager (who also quit), learned that many peoples checks where short. So she went into the system and saw that someone manually went in and changed multiple peoples hours. She said the only person who should be able to do that is the GM. My last day was insane. Everything was going wrong. Machines where breaking, the cash register wasnt working, we where crazy busy, under staff, and much more. We attempted to call the GM many many times, when he finally answered he said "Figure it out and stop calling me its not my problem" He hung up and then blocked numbers so we couldnt call him again. I was working morning shift, there was a new manager in training. She just started training and had no idea what to do, she was suppose to be working with another manager until her training was over. Well, since so many people quit and the GM refused to let anyone be called in. She was forced to work alone all night with no help. Doing cooking, cleaning, closing, I mean everything. No one was allowed to work a double shift, no one was allowed to be called in, and for weeks many people werent being paid properly. And no one was trying to fix it. Many of the managers said they where trying to get ahold of t
The work place has it's ups and downs but is mostly hostile, due to the low count of adults in the work place.
A typical day at work is tasking and stressful, there's a lot of moving around, yelling, hostile attitudes toward certain employees, there's favoritism also which is never a good thing in the work place.
I've learned working here, it's best to keep your mouth shut and your ears open, and maybe even to get to know a small amount of your co-workers because some of them don't totally hate you.
I have very few co-workers or even talk to me whenever I'm at work, mostly because we don't really work during each others shifts very often. I'd say I have about a solid 6 that will actually greet me when they see me and even ask me how I'm doing share their thoughts and plans with me, like a co-worker/ friend would. When the environment takes a bad turn and everyone's sort of on edge we give each other support with back pats and words of encouragement.
The hardest part of the job is trying to find a balance between your work tasks and your mind. The place is loud a lot of the people aren't that nice, they will attempt to push you around and make you do things they should be doing just so they can catch a break. it being fast paced and the fact that everyone usually seems to be in a bad mood just adds onto the fact that they'll be rushing you to try to get 3 to 6 things done all at once while standing still which doesn't make sense.
The most enjoyable part i'd say is when you get lucky enough to work a good bit of your shift with the co-workers you actually get alon
ProsHalf off any purchases, free refreshments throughout your shift.

a typical day of work is make biscuits bacon and wash dishes clean the station and so on but for me a typical day was come in at 4 am wait for 10 or so minutes more or less makes biscuits(fresh) for the day try to catch up on prep because the employ the day before didn't want to do it oh and I mean have it ready in time for lunch while making biscuits washing dish's cleaning up moping sweeping cleaning my station and to top it all off the employ who was running out the door every chance they got was being payed more then me you would think after a year I would get at least a small raise or something but nope because I didn't complain and just didn't I was toll even thought I would leave for the day and stock up on prep so the next day the other biscuit maker just have to make prep for the next day so I would come back into work a day or 2 later and would be expected to play catch up because the other employ was lazy and didn't want to do it and to top it all off sometimes the night people would make cookies so I would make them also from time to time and no brakes I didn't really mind it to be honest I'm not one to just stand around anyways I didn't complain not once but they had the nerve to blacklist me even thought the gms son once walked out on her and left more then once and once walked out and quit heck he's always an hour late because its more connivant for her she rehired him and others but not me so take it from me its not worth the 7.75 people who do less work g
To let you all know beforehand, I work as a assistant manager in the restaurant in be half of my manager i stand after him.To start my work in the day, first thing i did in the morning before i open the door, i check outside and inside the restaurant and read the log book for all around safety reason. After all was fine, i started to print out all the paper works was going to use for the day such as daily inventory form, waste log, employee meal log, training outline, daily temperature tracking form, pathing form and ordering requesition form for delivery refference.
During the delivery day, its my responsibility to check all production dates, Quantity recive and product Quality. After receiving all the product and organize I started to make my daily inventory. Since our ordering for the bakery was daily bases I need to call them in the morning to inform how many we need for the day and tommorow. Before opening the store for operation i should double check all equipment was working, clean and sanitize, stocks are available and all staff was ready on thier respective position. In the operation,i have four cashiers in frontline, five kitchens and nine delivery drivers. I position myself as hotspot in order for me to monitor both kitchen staff, cashiers and Guest activities.
During slow business period I was able to update all the paper works in the office and training for the staff. My co-workers was good and having team work attitude. The hardest part of my job act
