The my co-workers were great, but upper management was a mess
The worse company I have ever worked for. Im still surprised that I last 2 1/2 years with them. I waited for a new opportunity to pop up and so it did. Left in a heart beat. Management is a mess so disorganized, they don't train you right, they give you like 2 weeks to train, but don't train well enough to be in your own have to basically learn everything in your own. They are very mean and caring. Don't really care for you and throw you under the bus if they can. Oh oh they take advantage of nice people and use them a lot. If you are not mentally tough the airport is not for you and definitely for the company. I wouldn't recommend these guys to anyone. A new be to the airport just forget don't try these guys no a good start point. Salary wise not worth the work at all. Don't give raises nor benefits to motivate a person to work. Hours a minimum you can try, but rarely will. Very unorganized once again. When flight is delayed you are lucky that you get a break, but you have to pay your own f.ood They have a big turnover rate. New faces every 3 weeks. People quitting because they just had it with management and the company. Soooo yea try something else before going here .
ProsBasically nothing
ConsEverything from top to bottom a total mess.

Mundane Work , Low Pay
Thought it would be a good experience, as i like being at the Airport, and because ISS is supposedly the largest Building facilities Company in the world. Lack of Adequate supplies and working items,, along with 3 shifts and First shift always hiding items in storage closets , Items to do your job properly sometimes took you as long as 25-30 mins to get together. that causes a big issue when working midnights and you pretty much have to get everything done 2 hours before your shift end as you had to be done before TSA released everyone to their Gates Starting at 4 am, last 2 hours were touch up work. Company listed pay at 10 dollars per hour on Hiring listing, then when i got first check 2 weeks later it said 8.85,, brought it to the attention of mgmt and they said oh,, was an error in the listing. WOULDVE BEEN NICE TO MENTION THAT AT THE START ive seen smaller much better run organizations, I would Only recommend this place if you like to work for low pay and like the runaround all the time Other than that i would suggest , finding a better company to work for , that cares more about their employees .
ProsSecure environment, AIRPORT
Consterrible Pay, average management and Lack of Needed Supplies

A company with good intentions, poor management but a good place to gain experience from.
ISS FoH has a great company vision let down by poor management and a self-serving Head Office operation. The nature of the business means that salaries are low, even by market comparison. The team members are often hired and fed unrealistic expectations for their personal growth. It is very much a case of of over promising and under delivering, meaning moral can and does fall very quickly. ISS as a parent company fares better and it's no secret that the Front of House division has these problems and continues to operate with very ruthless processes that neither promote loyalty to the brand of quality of service delivery. On the other hand, you see and witness a lot of driven hardworking people that often move on to much more secure and better opportunities so, working for ISS FoH is a lesson on not how to do things but prepares you for reality. Other employers/recruiters are aware that if you have spend any measurable time working for this business, you are a committed and loyal employee that can reasonably be trusted to perform, under difficult or challenging circumstances.

Each division is a silo.
On the whole I believe ISS is a good company. The division I was in was subject to under bidding and over promising. Always a shoestring budget. My manager would breeze into town 2 or 3 times a year and not have a clue about my operation and struggles. Then if there was an issue that come in through Corp., he'd make a beeline to wield his "wisdom" and rebuke. The semi annual appraisals were just a perfunctory thing for him to check off his list. There was too much waiting on important decisions. IT was overworked and couldn't respond in a timely fashion. Large Corp./Vendor deals were made and we had to use preferred vendors to satisfy promises made at Corp. I understand there is buying power but the savings ISS achieved were never be realized in my P & L. I could have found cheaper solutions that would have bolstered my numbers. Any rebate was held at Corp. Frankly, ISS is too big of a company and I just felt like "one of the numbers". As always, my coworkers were great and I miss them dearly.
ProsPay not too bad. Flexible hours for management.
ConsMy manager was absent most of the time, I think he was over-extended, There's no opportunity for growth.

A Lying Company in Total Disarray
There have been so many changes recently in the organization and upper management of this company that it is nothing like what is it's mission statement corporately. My local manager, who supported, nurtured, guided, and supported us for many years and grew the business was unceremoniously let go for no reasons other than profit and because one incompetent egomaniac did not like his management style and sold his despotic vision to those that never knew a thing of what we, as a team, brought to this company. Stay far away from ISS; they've had 4 United States CEO's in 5 years, talk a lot of wonderful platitudes, but they're a horribly run company that only excel at hiring people to fix their problems, fire them within months or the people realize what kind of madhouse they've joined and depart as fast as they can for better opportunities. All the while they destroy good people's personal livelihoods and leaving utter wreckage in their wake. You'll never get a more accurate review of a train-wreck of a company than what you're reading now.

Low Pay for Unrealistic Demands
Good scheduling, Monday-Friday, 5PM to 9PM, which allowed me to attend school full time during the day, holidays off. Job was easy, just cleaning in the evening but no one ever lasted more than a month or 2 due to extremely poor management, as in constantly being yelled at, accused of not doing your job, etc. The demands were that of a full time, $10/hr job but we had to cram it all into 4 hours, at only $8.50. We were told we would be receiving a raise in 90 days, a year passed and no raises were given. We werent allowed to clock in a minute before we were scheduled but the manager would spend the first 30 minutes farting around then yell at us when we werent finished by exactly 9 o'clock. No room at all for advancement, and if the manager decided someone was her assistant and was in charge if she wasn't there, there was no pay raise for the person essentially taking on an assistant manager position. I would never work there again, no matter how much I was paid, and I definitely do NOT recommend it.
ProsSet schedule
ConsPoor management, low pay, high turnover

Productive and fun workplace working with ISS facility service
I would typically start the day off with clocking in to my shift then I would wait for instruction so after I get my instruction I would get my machine and start my work calls I was working for the Utah Salt Lake City National Airport and I clean the airport out restrooms buff the floors clean off mirrors change the liners and trash I just make sure that the job was done and that the manager or shift leader that was on that shift today make sure that the work was done correctly. What I learned is how airports are clean at night. The management there was awesome they always made sure that I knew what I was doing and if I ever needed help to ask. The culture of the workplace at the airport with ISS was great Fair people new how to do their job very friendly. The hardest thing working there with working with the ISS nothing great I loved it. The most enjoyable part of a working with ISS was the benefits of the discounts you get.

Got to work while a football game was going on.
I was cleaning the football stadium, the basketball collision, and concerts, before, during, and after all the games. After I worked there a while, I was offered a position for management. I accepted the position and started teaching people how to do the job in an different way so that they had a routine that helped them remember everything they needed to do with exceptions for times of other situations interrupting them. I love the work, but the hardest part of the job was the long hours I worked before, during, and after the games. The best park was knowing that my job was making sure that people could enjoy the games and concerts in a really clean environment. All my managers where great and really helpful. When we where in need of help they even helped us clean and that says a lot about them because most managers don't take time to do that.
ProsGetting to see games and concerts and autographs.

Drowing in work with no help
This company is a disaster. Everyone drowns in work and needs help but upper management insist that everything is fine and going well just to turn around to lay more people off and pile on more work to those that still work there. After that happens they dont increase your pay for the added work. There is no employee loyalty. The company makes empty promises just to turn back and do the opposite of what they say. The turn over rate is way too high yet uppermangement complains about it only to fire people who do stay. They also have a problem with paying vendors that do subcontract work as well. The misplace invoices constantly and the blame is pushed around with nothing being done about it until legal action is threatened.
Proswork from home
Conswork load, compensation, upper management, company direction, no training, not paying sub contractors
