Overall Reviews at Philip Morris International

Good place to get promotion
with very high turnover rate, PMI is a great place for you to get higher position if you are patient. Management is fairly good, you have enough autonomy to make decision in your territory.
Training is also of the focus for the company.
ProsPromotion opportunities, good colleagues, competitive salary
Consdecreasing industry, high turnover rate makes it hard to build strong connection with others

Best job I ever had
I was a cigarette packer at Philip Morris for 15 of the 17 years I worked there. Did not agree with the reason that I was released, but it was, by far, the best job I ever had. I miss it every day. The wages were excellent, but given the opportunity, I would go back at half the wages. Running a packer was the most rewarding job I ever had.
ProsExcellent wages and retirement plans
ConsStrict adherence to policies

Company with best culture and innovation
all employees are considered as asset owner in the company. I completely respect and appreciate what employees are doing for people with disabilities and behavioral issues and environment Frankly, this why I wanted to work here.
Because it is very fast-paced, there is a lot of work to be done always. Sometimes it can feel overwhelming if the work/life balance is off.
Senior Manufacturing Technician | Concord, NC | Oct 29, 2018
Most days were the same. Management was some times hard to work with, some times management was great it just depended on which manager you had. I was able to learn many different parts of the manufacturing process and worked with upper level Management and engineering to improve over all efficiency.

Was a good company
Was a good company in a very difficult industry. Lots of smart and driven employees. I did not believe in the product (cigarettes) but if people wanted to smoke them I did my best to support the employees and vendors who sold them.
Prosgood people and good perks
Consdifficult industry lots of negative feelings about the products by society

Not a good place to think about a long career
Two years in an ever changing environment with little sharing of information to the employees, about our options, and future in the company.
Philip Morris used to be an awesome place to work, until the changes in values, ethics, and product took place.
ConsLack of repespect for the employees

Machine Operator | Concord, NC | Sep 12, 2018
Most of this job consisted of operating cigarette packing and making machines. Since I was certified to operate End of Line equipment and Cigarette Packing equipment I was pulled from my normal machine to fill in when some workers did not come to work to keep the production numbers.
