Great place to work.
Great place to work, good people, teamwork is encouraged. There is a lot of opportunity for advancement. I started as an Administrative Assistant and advanced to a Promotional Specialist.

Loved working with the people
Answered phones, created daily and weekly reports, handled issues that pertained to the office, interacted with IT department and Human Resources for new hire setup and termination, handled subpoenas for the department.
Department manager and director where great. I supported both of them.
After Albertsons bought Safeway the company culture has changed dramatically. Many changes have taken place.
I loved working with the people in all the departments I interacted with.

Rewarding place to work.
Safeway is a great place to work. I met and founded great long term business and personal relationships. The work was creative and created professional growth. The downside yet upside was buyouts.
I enjoyed managing others. Starting a team and selling the teams skills to departments that were decentralized and never utilized Souring personnel to help this with their capital, non-capital and services decisions. Its was very rewarding.

No thank you
Working at Foster city Safeway was not on the list of my favorite jobs. Management didnt communicate with each other well and if you were fake enough you could make friends.

This company is great for young adults just getting out of high school or even college that aren't sure exactly what they want to do with the their life

Great place to work
You can make great money if you are not afraid to work hard, Depending on warehouse and shift you will work a lot of overtime. Union environment is not the easiest to deal with at times. Great people with long term employment.

the company is going downhill
In the nearly 10 years i have worked there I have consistently watched the hours be cut as the expectation of work needing to be done rise. its an unrealistic ratio and it is only getting worse

A typical call-center job
Although the supervisors try to keep up morale (pot lucks, birthday cake once a month, relaxed dress code on Fridays/weekends), I found it a stressful place to work. Call center workers are not really able to fix most problems for their customers, and in many cases are not even able to give them pertinent information. Having the responsibility of listening to customer issues and having no tools or authority to make it right is frustrating.
ProsGood cafeteria, nice coworkers, variety of calls
ConsStressful and frustrating job

I’ve been here for 20+ years and I don’t think we get paid for what we do. I do love my job and I take pride in what I do. They have provided for my family
