Overall Reviews at Saks Fifth Avenue

Saks was a tough job because you are on a commission structure and there is not much clientele. My manager was wonderful, but upper management was uncaring of their employees

Its Avery good place to work
I'm happy at Saks at the moment. the pay is low and I wish they would get rids the commission policy in New Orleans. commission verses draw is killing my checks. most of my commission earned got to a draw based on your hourly wages.

good for college students
Flexible schedule is good for college kids, aside from that I wouldn't recommend this place. Too negative and toxic of an environment. Not just because of management and associates but customers play a big role in this too.

Not the best Saks store. Very old and dated and no high end luxury brands like Fendi or Gucci.
I worked at Saks Fifth Avenue in Cincinnati Ohio so it was different. Saks was a commission environment and it lead to a lot of unhealthy competition. It was a very slow paced store and employees would often fight over customers. It was an unhealthy environment because of that. Employees didn't want to help other employees if they weren't going to get paid behind said help.. The store I worked for was often empty.

Nothing to say
The customers were great. I enjoyed selling. The area was convenient. Flexible hours. Enjoyed the job, the product, and the guest. I would recommend it to anyone.

Upscale Customer Retail
If you love customer service building and fashion. Saks is a nice place to work.
I worked at a smaller location in Hackensack NJ, so you must focus, take your time, and articulate your skills to build relationships and repeat business with your clients, providing the best service, and follow ups.
This location of Saks has closed.

Stressful, demanding job.
Not very gratifying. There is no opportunity for advancement.
Its been a while since I work there. At this time I have nothing more to add

Just a job
Only good part about Saks was working from home. Overtime was mandatory and if you missed a day due to illness it was unexcused even with a doctor's note. Work it until you find something else. Management is all over the place.. no one backs you if you have an issue with a customer.
