Watch your back
When oil prices are good everyone is happy. But when prices drop, the knives come out. Stay productive, keep your head down. Put a fake smile on and fall in with the in crowd

My time there was extremely short, but the projects at this company are exciting and there is a lot they are working on, so there are always new opportunities to move within the company.

I was proud to work for Shell. The compensation and benefits were above average... Especially in the beginning. In the later years, not so much.

started as an operator promoted to supervisor the to superintendent
Great Company to work for a masssive amount of experiance within its sections . It could be better if all Leaders had to work thier way up instead of being placed staight from school into positions that require leadership . If your not fluent in a specific area its hard to know whats possible. If your not aware of realistic goals your team will notice.

Too many managers
I really did not enjoy my time being employed as staff with Shell, I consulted for them for 5 years and I wish I would have kept doing that. Too much networking, which creates communication problems
ProsGood work schedule
ConsToo many managers

Change is the only constant
There is always change...and career development takes a back seat when change is in the air. When I started at Shell in 2012, there were 13 assets. Now, there are 5. We have divested assets to the point where our footprint is small and there are limited opportunities for growth.

if your looking for flexible hrs this is not the place
they have three shifts. If you need to anything you can only do it when you work first shift. I want to go back to school to better myself and i cant. You dont have the time to get your body adjusted for the next shift
