Dont like the cheap pay, but u can make up with promos if the order has been sitting. Hard hustling job, if u want to literally Hustle for a dollar. If u stay within the city, it's a good quick money job. You get paid every week.

I love this job
If anyone reviews Shipt as a bad place to work, they are wrong! First of all these are the people who cannot and should not be independent contractors because they don't understand how it works. I love working independently and being able to make my own schedule and acquire my own regular customers. If you are capable of doing these things this is the gig for you! Shipt is also a wonderful company to partner with!

As an independent contractor on the north side of Indianapolis, I find it hard to find shops that make it possible to drive, shop and deliver and actually make a profit, unfortunately.
Prosmake your own hours
Conspay for your own vehicle expenses, too many shoppers in the market to make money

Love the flexibility
I love being able to work when I want. When I call Shipt HQ the people who answer are always helpful. They seem to really care about their contracted shoppers.

Flexible and independent
This job is what you make of it. You're in control of how much or how little you want to work and make. Great part time job. Can be very rewarding if you like helping people.

Great if you have the initiative
FUN! great way to earn extra income. Awesome earning potential but you must pay your own taxes at tax time. BAD: Shipt has the right to "deactivate" you at any time for any reason with little to no explanation so there is no job security at all.

Started off good, began to get bad after 5 weeks.
I have been working for Shipt for 9 weeks and I loved doing it in the beginning. I was making okay money at first but I had to work 32 hours to make $350 because a lot of people don't tip. After a while shops became harder to get because other shoppers became activated in the area. By this it was difficult to make even $200 a week and after gas, travel time, estimate 2 hours for 1 shop, it was apparent that I was making below minimum wage. There are others who make $500 or more a week and they like to brag and rub it in others faces that they are going into other metros to shop which I feel is taking away from other shoppers having the opportunity to make money. But those people are also working up to 7 days 40+ hours to make over that amount which after expenses they themselves only make minimum wage or less. They also try to take only promo shops which by doing so can make a zone seem like it needs to activate more shoppers thus making a zone crowded with shoppers and harder to make money. I myself dont feel I should have to drive 20+ miles to shop when I am not getting paid mileage, or to even take shops in another metro when I was making money in my metro a few weeks ago. People I shopped for regularly have asked where I have been and most customers want to request only me and they are upset they cant. If you are looking for part-time cash its not to bad but when you calculate expenses be sure if its something that works for you. I think if Shipt is not careful it can tu
ProsMake your own schedule, possible to make good $, be your own boss
ConsPay not reliable, competative zones, no paid mileage, may not be worth it after expenses calculated.

I have worked for Shipt for a little over a year. The flexibility given by the job is one of the major positives. I'm my opinion this job is great for students or stay at home mom's looking for extra side work. You work completely from the app. You get the customers name, phone number, address and grocery list. You shop and then deliver within the 1 hour time frame. So if you have to deliver at 2 pm. Start shopping an hour ahead of time The pay is based on how large of an order is offered to you, or you pick up in the metro. It is not a guaranteed $20 an hour as advertised but for the people who work Miami that is a possibility. It is much busier there. Location choice will also effect your pay. They don't reimburse you for gas or offer any type of pay for vehicle maintenance so whatever wear and tear you put on your car is your responsibility. To conclude it's not a terrible job and if you dedicate full time hours and put it the work you can make decent money.

Started out great a year ago
I've been with Shipt for a year and 5 months. In the beginning it was the best thing I had ever stumbled across, nowadays..I'm not quite sure. The HQ support aren't as nice as they once were and they often look down on shoppers (in my opinion). Customers are spoiled and complain about every little thing. But I enjoy the flexibility that it gives me.
ConsLack of togetherness from HQ and other shoppers
Questions And Answers about Shipt
If you were to leave Shipt, what would be the reason?

Wow. Thank you for your comments. Figured this job was bs. Figure out a workable system or go away. Another shysty silicone valley "innovation," right? I make like 30 and hour with domino's almost effortlessly. Better step up your game if you want to compete with other delivery jobs. Can hire me as a consultant if you like, but this job sounds like it sucks... bad.

Shipt is very rude as well. They deactivate for no reason and the people there who actually speak to the customers never want to speak to the shoppers about issues. They should. I finally let them know exactly what I thought and quit.

Do you screen the people that is buying the food to make sure the person delivering the groceries lives aren't in danger.

A shopper is not a hired employee. Just because someone is a felon doesn't mean they shouldn't be a customer.
Answered Jan 28, 2020
So they back ground check and give a extensive interview process to applicants and do nothing to check customer out That's unfair to deliver person ,They're putting them at risk !! .

My friend is very interested but she is vegetarian and even walking past the meat department is difficult for her. Is there any way she could only accept orders from vegetarians? Or is there some other way it could be worked out such as calling ahead for for the meat department to select items and put them in a bag for her? Or she could perhaps arrange to meet at the store with another Shipt person and could pay them to select the meat and put it in a bag?
Asked Jan 31, 2018
Seriously? Is this a joke? Um no, don't take the job if you can't do the job.
Answered Jun 15, 2019
I would say most of my orders are delivery only and you can decide which orders you take. So if she were to only take deliveries she wouldn’t have to bag any meat or look at it or even know it’s there 🤷🏼♀️
