Overall Reviews at South African Police Service
Police Sergeant | Point, TX | Jan 13, 2020
Very little room for improvement
The Police Force in South Africa is a fantastic and good organization with a genuine Mission and Vision to serve and protect its citizens, however the promotion policy lacks, management lacks, the job is also very dangerous as South Africa is a crime ridden country.
ProsGovernment job which is secure with good fringe benefits
ConsDangerous job, poor promotion policy, long hours, odd shifts/times

The good is have a good wrking relationship with fellow worker, the nagative is no proper recognition and promotions.
I love working as police officer in South Africa, the scope and salary is very vague. I love my job and become negative when it comes to being promoted.

My day to day job is to investigate arson cases. Determine if there was any foul plays? It is not a routine job, hence it is very much interesting. Time frames required by management at times become unreasonable since a scene cant be predictable. Escavating and reconstructing the scene can be challenging at times.
ProsNO FREE LUNCHES ALLOWED
ConsLONG DISTANCES AND HOURS
