Very fun work environment
I loved working here. I wish it wasn't a temp position. The staff was very welcoming and treated me like family. They took the time to teach me new thing, and was very patient.

Not a fun place to work.
Inventory is very small and the dealership is old. The customers that come in are mostly "get-me-dones". Leasing is a strong part of VW so most of my time was spent explaining why leasing is a better option for the customer (it may or may not have been). Moral is low and the management team is all "good ol' boys" that have known each other a long time. They try to help each other out before anyone else.
ProsWas sent away for formal training (rare).
ConsLow customer volume and morale.

Great place to work
Great culture of service and good management.
I love working here, I just need professionally growth. I have been working here since 2014 and I have had promotions, but still I want something bigger.

Senior Accounting Manager | Daytona Beach, FL | Oct 15, 2019
I loved my work but, went through many obstacles from the first moment they rehired me. I had to deal with a novice staff plus lack of any good direction from upper managers. I worked for the company previously at a different location for 6.5 years. But, since I been away from their company for over 5 years, the responsibilities expected for this position were not made obvious. The day I started, the previous manager who was training me, was let go. Many things done by this company I feel can be ethically in question.
For instance, I went on vacation for a trip that was approved before I started. I made sure I had all the month-end procedures completed before I left. When I returned, I was demoted and my pay was cut. My boss told me over the phone. They replaced me with someone they felt was more fit for the position and offered me the assistant position. I accepted in the hopes to learn from this person.
The gentlemen left within two weeks after being hired. He went to lunch and never came back. I was put back to handling the same position as before without the raise back in pay.
Eventually they split the duties and position. I covered Volkswagen and handled their financials. Also helped implement the cashiering program for all the dealerships.
Then, I was let go with no reason given. My manager never contacted me, she had the sales manager inform me. He said if I wanted to know why, I had to contact her.
ProsLearned alot about licensing and implementing new procedures. Met alot of great people.

Good company with a lot of areas available
Volkswagen is a good company to work for in general. Sometimes some top priority issues can be stressful, but it's overall fine. It's a fairly horizontal structure so you can really interface with high level managers quite easily.
