It was a great adventure working for Xerox.
Through out all the ups and downs, I was able to learn a lot, thanks to to Xerox and the time off I was able to gain with my working for them 31 years; I was able to even do the things that I wanted to on my own time.

Paradoxical and challenging
I have learned immensely due to continual reductions in force with the expectation of having to assume open workloads and full expectation and responsibility of workloads. Best thing about the job is seeing my contributions in operation and the global scope and reach of a fully functional IT environment. Hardest part is the acute management silence and ongoing turnover, HR RIF/IRIF actions, funding.

Benefits could be better
Benefits and pay were not that great. I actually enjoyed my job, however the company is not willing to pay. Worked there for a total of 10 years with only 2 raises, as the company always stated they were on a pay freeze.
Great place to work - before all the layoffs
During my time at Xerox, I greatly enjoyed the professionalism of the atmosphere, collaborate with co-workers, and everything I learned in my position. The Ink R&D Dept was fantastic. The management was some of the best I've ever experienced, the team was very supportive, and the work we did was quite exciting.
Sadly, Xerox restructured and laid off entire departments and sold others. So the Ink R&D department is now part of another company (3D Systems). Many of the same team work there... so this review would probably apply more to the people in that company now. Since I've never worked for 3D Systems, I couldn't say for sure.
Good company to work for.

The old family oriented Xerox Corporation with great environment to work, where friendly people worked with passion for a better company, great achievements and success is GONE.
Board of directors, share holders and top executives are looking out for themselves ONLY, there is no positive feedback for employees.

People with no training getting promotions for non production. Surely there have been complaints against Xerox.

Was fun while it lasted
If there was more communication and structure in the organization the goals would be achieved. We are also lacking in a comprehensive benefits program and lack of 401k or other incentives. Bonuses are never awarded even though they are spelled out in the offer letter.
ConsLeadership vision, benefits
Xerox, like other copier manufacturers, is struggling with the transition of accounts to the channel partners. I think the dust to settle now, and things are smoothing out.

Worked for Xerox for 8 years. I enjoyed my job and I always felt a strong sense of purpose. The people at my location were great, too.
I voluntarily left due to down-sizing.
