Research Assistant

ICF is hiring research consultants to support desk research activities funded by the U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL). The positions may be full or part time and work will be done remotely. It is estimated the job will last from the end of November to the end of December 2018, with some potential for hours in January 2019. Candidates with suitable background who do well on this task will also be considered for research and editing tasks in spring 2019, if interested.

Job Description:
ICF supports the USDOL’s Office of Child Labor, Forced Labor and Human Trafficking (OCFT) in OCFT’s annual publication of the Findings on the Worst Forms of Child Labor , otherwise known as the TDA report. The staff for these positions will be copying and pasting sections of last year’s TDA report from Word documents into the SharePoint system. Staff will also re-cite the reports by re-entering each citation and re-inserting them into the SharePoint document every place the citation appears in the report.

Key Responsibilities:
Copying and pasting text and data from Word and Excel into SharePoint (training and guidance on specific steps will be provided).
Re-citation of the reports by using last year’s report as reference and entering the citations into USDOL’s SharePoint system.
Producing accurate recreations of the TDA report in a timely manner.

Qualifications:
Ability to follow detailed instructions and produce accurate results on a mundane task.
Proficient in MS applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ability to obtain low-level security clearance. U.S. citizenship is NOT required, must "meet all Background Investigation requirements in accordance to FIPS 201-2 para 2 (Common Identification, Security, and Privacy Requirements) section 2.1 and 2 (p. 5 and 6)."
Local to the D.C. metropolitan area. Candidates will need to go to USDOL’s Francis Perkins building in D.C., on approximately two occasions, to complete security procedures and to obtain/return the USDOL equipment.
Availability to work between the end of November and the end of December 2018.
Candidate should be able to work efficiently and effectively as part of a team and also be self-motivated.
