Wayne State University Physician Group, one of Southeast Michigan’s largest multi-specialty Physician Practice Groups, is currently seeking a full-time Desktop Systems Engineer to join our Information Technology Department located in Troy, MI.

As a Desktop Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for:
Administration of SCCM to create, maintain, and deploy software packages, run advanced reporting queries, and manage, update, and maintain drivers for all windows based devices in environment
Create, update, document, and maintain the various configurations of Microsoft Windows operating system images
Manage operating system deployments, create, update, document, and maintain Windows based operating system images for existing and new computer models
Streamline operating system updates and changes to resolve known issues and improve on existing process
Administration of GPOs to create, maintain, update, document, and deploy global policies for windows enterprise network environment
Software package development to create, test, document and deploy customized software deployment packages for standard, non-standard/non-enterprise software to be installed with all required configuration for deployment via SCCM and/or to be installed by support team with a one-click installer
Security update administration to evaluate, manage, document, and deploy Microsoft security updates based on a phased, monitored rollout process
Application update administration to evaluate, manage, document, and deploy security updates for all other applications such as Java, Flash, Firefox, Chrome, etc.
Application development for support teams to develop applications and scripts for helpdesk analysts and system admins to provide remote support
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Deployment Tools (MDT) server to increase OS image creation proficiency and consistency
Required Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent work experience
Requires a minimum of five years’ experience with computer applications including setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting
ITIL Foundations v.3 certified or proven experience working with ITIL processes
Requires a minimum of five years’ experience with Microsoft Office product suite
Requires a minimum of three years’ experience working with desktop security including patch management, virus protection, and encryption methodologies
Working knowledge of Windows Server administration
Working knowledge of network security
Must have strong communication, documentation, and analytical skills
Must have excellent problem solving and customer service skills
Must be detail oriented with strong organizational skills
Must be willing to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines when necessary
