The machine learning team at Microsoft Research NYC is seeking a qualified postdoctoral researcher to join us in advancing the state-of-the-art in ML and AI. If your research background is in machine learning, artificial intelligence or a related field, we would like to hear from you!
Microsoft Research offers an exhilarating and supportive environment for cutting-edge, multidisciplinary research, both theoretical and applied, with access to an extraordinary diversity of big and small data sources, an open publications policy, and close links to top academic institutions around the world. We seek applicants with the passion and ability to craft and pursue an independent research program, including a strong publication record at top research venues.
The Microsoft Research machine learning group in New York includes the following researchers (click on each link to view their respective projects and publications): Hal Daumé III, Miroslav Dudík, Akshay Krishnamurthy, John Langford, Robert Schapire, Alex Slivkins, Jenn Wortman Vaughan, and Hanna Wallach. We collaborate extensively with the other groups at MSR NYC (fairness/accountability/transparency/ethics in AI, computational economics, computational social science, and computer systems) and with groups across Microsoft Research.
The typical length of a postdoc is two years, following the academic calendar, and the earliest start date is July 1, 2019. We are happy to consider your application even if you have (or will have) tenure-track offers from other institutions, provided you are able to defer your faculty start date to accept our position.
To be assured of full consideration, all of your materials, including reference letters, need to be received by December 11, 2018. Applications received after that date may or may not be considered.
