The Director, On-Air Promotion Planning & Strategy provides critical insights and develops the strategy to drive on-air promotion performance for marketing of the Outdoor Sportsman Group (OSG) networks. Reporting to the Vice President of Creative Services, the Director of On-Air Promotion Planning & Strategy offers a unique opportunity to have a significant impact with on-air presence by working closely with a variety of cross-functional teams including ad sales, creative services, marketing, research, programming, social media and traffic. This role is responsible for using strong analytical/strategic thinking to identify areas of opportunity to grow the business and strong communication and interpersonal skills to influence strategy.

Demonstrate proficiency in and working knowledge of scheduling systems and processes (GRiPit, Wide Orbit, Shotgun, Excel, SharePoint)
Plan, execute and manage the on-air campaigns that support the OSG Networks
Provide actionable analysis, insights and recommendations on opportunities to help drive in-quarter' and long-term performance
Provide regular operational and strategic management updates to the senior executives
Develop, lead and effectively leverage a team to achieve strong performance
Partner with marketing/research and sales teams to understand where and how to optimize performance; communicate campaign insights and opportunities
Develop processes and procedures to drive department efficiencies
Maintain uploads of quarterly data in GRiPit System (rates/ratings/cumes)
Expert on scheduling tools with ability to troubleshoot and fill-in for direct reports as needed
Manage the workflow of direct reports
Preparation of custom on-air performance reports for various departments
Attending and hosting team meetings as necessary

Previous experience and understanding of ratings measurements such as Nielsen, Rentrak, etc.
Previous experience with promotional planning software platforms (GRiPit, Wide Orbit, Excel)
Must be a strategic and analytical thinker with strong organizational and communication skills
Must possess strong initiative and the ability to multitask and problem solve
Must be a team player and a self-starter who can work in a fast-paced environment

Bachelor’s Degree required, advanced degree preferred
8+ years of experience in broadcast or cable in an on-air promotion scheduling or market research role
Demonstrated experience dealing with senior executives
Ability to synthesize multiple analytical insights into a compelling strategic/actionable plan
Strong presentation skills and ability to craft a strategic narrative
