Investment Marketing is responsible for bringing to life our product offerings in a way that engages investors to take action to invest or to remain invested in our products by creating compelling product stories and content that is leveraged globally.
We are looking for a n Investment Marketing Director to join our team. This role serves as a subject matter expert within Global Investment Marketing, demonstrating a deep understanding of the firm’s overall investment capabilities and specific products/strategies and ability to connect our investment solutions with solving client needs. Global Investment Marketing strives to engage investors to invest or remain invested in our Franklin Templeton products by creating compelling stories that bring our products to life through marketing content that is leveraged globally.
The Investment Marketing Director plays a significant role in determining the overall marketing narrative within the Fixed Income vertical and will have specific knowledge and product marketing experience in Fixed Income . This role leverages strong understanding of the investment philosophy and investment strategies to create impactful content and material for Fixed Income programs , including helping to define and deliver on strategic initiatives whilst keeping a keen eye on simple storytelling to help make the products resonate with investors, in a variety of key markets. This role will encompass a variety of responsibilities such as overseeing story refreshes, developing messaging, and supporting both product launches and marketing campaigns.

Content Strategy and Development
Key partner for CIOs and Senior Product Managers, responsible for knowing all ongoing efforts with respect to their businesses and having a seat at the strategic table to own and develop overall messaging and communication strategy.
Leverages in-depth knowledge of their assigned asset class or investment capability to Develop content recommendations to support a cohesive content strategy and ensure that content programs plug into regional integrated marketing initiatives. Development of messaging and promotional strategy for the investment platforms (SIMs)should be aligned with Franklin Templeton’s global distribution priorities.
The Product Marketing Director is an individual contributor and leader who will co-ordinate a team of marketing staff as they execute activities in line with the strategy and ensure all other marketing content is current, relevant and fit for purpose..
This role is responsible for building a deep relationship with the assigned CIO and other investment leaders.
Oversees new story design and refreshes for investment platforms and investment strategies, collaborating with Specialist Investment Manager (SIM) stakeholders, Product and Distribution Teams.
Responsible for story development, selling points, application into marketing collateral (e.g., presentation and/or slide development, product profiles, Web content), sales training materials and approach.
Partners closely with marketing colleagues responsible for developing new product materials to ensure that content is consistent with core messaging and is of a high quality.
Product Launch Support
Applies knowledge of regulatory guidelines and requirements for product launches across channels globally to help set the plan and timeline for delivering marketing collateral.
Collaborates with SIMs and Product teams to articulate core product messaging including people, process, philosophy, and positioning.
Tracks all product launches globally by partnering closely with Global Product Strategy and determines appropriate level of support for each launch, in collaboration with Regional Distribution, and assigns resources from the team as needed to support delivery.
Provides Principal Review and sign off of marketing collateral for global products.
Builds custom stories and marketing material for global new products and owns the development of a defined suite of core materials.
Works with cross-functional marketers in collaboration with SIM stakeholders on global marketing campaigns.
Understands key market drivers and client concerns across markets and partners with Regional Marketers to develop campaign strategy.
Partners with Regional Marketers to creatively resolve key challenges to support client outreach and sales process.
Identifies the product marketing needs (deliverables as well as topics) to support the campaigns; works with other GMS teams and Product Managers to resource and organize the effort.
Provides Principal Review and sign off of marketing campaign materials.
Stays current on competitive marketplace intelligence for assigned asset class and/or strategies covered, including what investment capabilities have traction with different clients. Telegraphs that intelligence back into Franklin Templeton to inform marketing efforts.
Champion products and understand the big picture, looking for ways to align tactical needs with strategic focus. Ideate relevant product stories that connect strategies with client needs across channels globally.
What qualifications, skills and experience would help someone to be successful?
Typically has 12+ years related experience, preferably in a global environment
Deep experience in a Product or Investment-related role, with specialization in a certain asset class or investment capability.
Experience managing a team.
Prior product marketing experience with strong story-telling capabilities within equities, emerging market equities specifically, and overall platform. Financial industry experience is required
Strong ability to connect the investment philosophy, objectives, and narrative of underlying strategies and products to client needs
Ability to collaborate and interact effectively and professionally at all levels of seniority and across the global organization
Strong influencing and proactive communication capabilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent project management and organization skills, ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Independent problem-solving skills and highly motivated individual
CFA or other professional financial qualification and/or relevant licenses would be advantageous
