The typical course of instruction may include:
Political Science (POLI330)
This course explores political systems in a comparative way, with emphasis on governmental forms, constitutions, determinants of foreign policy and methods of political change. Studies of recent political history, current world affairs and the structure of political institutions are included.
Develops and provides students with an approved syllabus which includes the terminal course objectives.
Uses appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software, including Websites, e-mail, and online discussions for preparing the course and making it accessible to students.
Models effective strategized communications that engage online students, provide clarity, and improve student learning.
Sets clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives, assignment/examinations dates, and weight the distribution of various evaluation categories.
Ensures that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives.
Demonstrates consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams, and provide timely feedback to students.
You are encouraged to explore this opportunity if you meet the following criteria:
A Master's or PhD degree in Political Science or very closely related field with an emphasis in ethics along with 18+ earned graduate credit hours directly in political science courses
Candidates with prior higher education teaching experience, especially online, are strongly encouraged to apply
Solid subject matter expertise and outstanding communication skills
Excellent motivational and instructional skills to be effective in a dynamic online environment
Must be able to work in a collegial manner and facilitate the efforts of diverse groups
Have exceptional subject matter expertise as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills
Are eager to serve students and colleagues with passion, respect and care
Are able to provide official transcripts for all earned degrees from a regionally accredited institution
