Mechanical or Chemical Engineer w/ 10+ Years’ Experience for Modesto, CA
We are currently looking for a Mechanical or Chemical Engineer with General Chemical, Specialty Chemical, Oil & Gas or related experience, preferably with mechanical/ reliability engineering skills and a Process Safety Management (PSM) background for a specialty chemical manufacturing client located in Modesto. The candidate will become the lead engineer for the site. This is a 1-year assignment which will convert to a direct hire by the client.
Mechanical/Chemical Engineer Responsibilities:
Provide on-site engineering and project support as a seconded Versa engineer for a client located in Modesto, CA. Client was recently bought by a larger corporation and needs to improve its’ programs in Reliability Engineering (Mechanical Integrity) and Process Safety Management (PSM), as well as maintain overall plant engineering programs.
Job Responsibilities include:
- Lead efforts to implement Reliability Engineering and Process Safety Management elements at the site.
- Coordinate and participate as technical representative in HAZOP and LOPA activities supporting Process Safety Management requirements.
- Lead efforts to comply with the ‘Parent Company’ reliability engineering programs.
- Lead engineering design projects and provide plant operations support. Additional design support is provided by Versa Engineering.
- Evaluate and generate project design alternatives to help arrive at optimal choices, especially during the early stage of engineering projects.
- Lead or support engineering studies to help resolve customer production challenges.
- Ensure engineering design complies with governing codes, regulatory requirements, and client standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering (Preferred)
- 10+ years of experience in general chemical, specialty chemical, Oil & Gas or related experience, preferably with mechanical/ reliability skills and a Process Safety Management (PSM) background.
- Knowledge of Lean work processes is a plus.

- Client may require on-site interview
Schedule:
- 8-hour workday

- 1 day per week remote
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
