Position Objective:
This position is the primary liaison between IT and Underwriting. The Business Analyst position is also the “expert” in all areas of technical operation which includes the rater, rules engine and functionality of Guidewire and OnBase. The Analyst is responsible for testing, implementing and coordinating all Personal Lines projects with the IT Department and Pricing, as well as, addressing all issues regarding functional or technical problems, changes, or enhancements to existing Personal Lines products.

Responsibilities:
Participate in developing, implementing and monitoring various departmental and company projects.
Develop rich understanding of client business requirements and facilitate required transition of that knowledge to the project team and maintenance teams.
Liaison between Underwriting and IT for production problems, inquiries, etc.
Responsible for outlining workflow changes and troubleshooting issues in ImageRight, Guidewire Suite and Onbase by writing business requirements.
Answer questions from department personnel, IT, and other departments in regards to any Personal Lines products and assist in developing training material.
Point of contact for department users regarding computer problems and questions.
Test revisions &/or updates taking place on various systems for all Personal Lines products.
Review documents in production and assist with the proofing of revised and new forms, endorsements, applications, policyholder letters, brochures, etc. for accuracy and correctness.
Responsible for outlining workflow changes and troubleshooting issues in ImageRight.
Contact outside companies regarding various issues affecting Personal Lines products.
Attend seminars and conferences.

Education and Experience:
5 years on the job experience in the insurance industry in Personal Lines or IT.
Degree preferred.
Continued education through The Institutes

Ability to work through complex problems to analyze causes and determine appropriate solutions
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and issues simultaneously to meet specific deadlines
Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate and interact with people at all organizational levels.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment requiring attention to detail and frequent contact with internal customers.
Ability to aggressively assume responsibility for problems as they arise.
Strong organizational skills.
Ability to work in spreadsheet and word processing software such as Word and Excel.
Working knowledge of all functional areas of the Personal Lines Department.
