The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for the accurate and timely accounting, reporting, analysis and reconciliations related to assigned entities and functional areas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure the timely and accurate journalization of all assigned accounts and transactions to the general ledger.
Reconcile designated general ledger accounts to the summary trial balance on a monthly basis.
Provide assistance to operational management in the analysis and understanding of all financial information as needed.
Calculate, analyze, verify and report all costs and activity to manager related to assigned areas on a monthly basis.
Ensure all inter-company accounts for assigned entities are balanced on a periodic basis.
Assist with all assigned audit requests in connection with quarterly reviews and the year-end external audits on a timely basis.
Participate in all SOX compliance activities, including completing of relevant controls.
Additional duties as assigned
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key accountabilities of the job required
5+ years of general accounting experience preferred
High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)
Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts
Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients
Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management
Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
