The County of San Diego is currently accepting job applications for Assistant Engineer, an excellent entry level career opportunity that offers career development and growth opportunities.
This eligibility list will be used to fill two immediate vacancies in the Department of Public Works, and may be used to fill future vacancies in Public Works and Planning & Development Services.
Assistant Engineers perform entry level engineering work, and upon successfully gaining their registration/licensure as a Professional Engineer with the State of California, they may become eligible for promotion to the Civil Engineer job class, current annual salary $82,388.80 - $101,192.

1. A bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering from an accredited U.S. college or university, or a certified foreign studies equivalency with coursework approved by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET),
2. Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) certificate from State of California, and 1 (one) year of experience in civil or structural engineering.
