Position Title: Government Relations Specialist

Position Summary

The position provides assistance and administrative support to the Government Relations Manager. Prepares and submits documents and permits, interfacing with local governments and jurisdictions to research relevant processes to network requirements and secure requisite authorizations.

Essential Job Functions

Provides support with all aspects of preparing and securing entitlement applications and agreements as needed for installation of Crown Castle facilities on poles and other infrastructure within the public right of way and public utility easements..

Assists in researching and preparing authorizations analyses detailing the applicable process and associated costs and timelines for each jurisdiction contemplated in new project opportunities.

Use mapping database to correlate facility placement with jurisdictional boundaries.

Assists in the negotiation of right-of-way use agreements as needed in accordance with Crown Castle standards and parameters.

Maintains relationships with municipalities and manage all aspects of complying with conditions of approvals from municipalities for installation, operation and maintenance of Crown Castle facilities. Will also be called upon to interface with municipal staff and to effectively communicate in support of our networks.

Serves as liaison between Crown Castle's Network Real Estate group and Implementation group to obtain, administer and ensure compliance with general conditions of approvals at permit and construction stages of the project, meeting project timelines.

Support the Network Real Estate market team on review of agreements and review of municipal code and/or zoning ordinance changes in collaboration with counsel in the course of Crown Castle installing and maintaining facilities and operating its networks.

Provides research and advice to internal clients regarding access rights, permitting, and project deployment.

Interact with customers and vendors to ensure proper communication on and coordination of various project-related initiatives.

Education/Certifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Experience/Minimum Requirements

Two (2) to four (4) years proven experience working in a municipality in a Planning, Zoning, and/or Land Use capacity or Wireless Industry required or equivalent in a comparable industry or relevant military experience

Basic knowledge of MapInfo or similar GIS database preferred

Experience in presenting and speaking to the public and governmental entities desired

Must be experienced in navigating corporate environment and working within a corporate group context

Experience working with design teams, facilitation of permit drawings and construction documents related to outside plant construction required

Experience in constructing and administering effective community outreach programs desirable
