Minimum qualifications:
Currently pursuing a Master's or PhD degree in Design (e.g., Interaction, Graphic, Visual Communications, Product, Industrial), Human Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field.
Experience prototyping with D3.js, HTML/CSS, and JavaScript.
Experience with communicating interaction and design ideas through storyboards, wireframes and prototypes.
Experience with user-centered, usability and aesthetic design principles.

Preferred qualifications:
Returning to your degree program upon completion of the internship.
Experience designing products that rely on presentation of data to influence customer behavior.
3 years of relevant graduate work.
Effective communication and teamwork skills, paired with interaction design skills and clean visual design.
Authorization to work in the United States.
Pursuing a PhD in Design (e.g. interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), Human Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field.

You'll join our People Analytics Product Lab, which is responsible for prototyping products that use people science and technology to drive quantifiable behavior change at scale in Google employees to improve productivity, well-being and happiness. People Analytics has a Business Intelligence team, which creates dashboards that are shared with all Googlers and some specialized reports for a few hundred internal users. You will be working with this team to make UI and UX recommendations for critical dashboards.

Evaluate the current dashboard user interface and design wireframes for improving the user experience.
Make specific recommendations to improve user experience for internally-used dashboards.
Help build People Operations Business Intelligence brand by developing a consistent style across dashboards and reports.
Assess current product usability, making constructive suggestions for improvement.
