The Administrative Assistant I provide administrative and clerical support for a particular department, area and/or program as assigned.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assists with the preparation of correspondence, reports, manuals, presentations and data as required.
Resolves problems in area of responsibility and follows issues to resolution.
Has and maintains general knowledge about the services and activities of the area of responsibility and uses knowledge as required in the performance of the position.
Provides operational support, which may include greeting, schedule coordination, communications flow and interaction with HFA departments to support program operations.
Responds to basic requests for information and answering questions, and is able to determine when issues need escalating.
Demonstrates effective organization skills and is able to multi-task in order to respond to multiple concurrent needs, and evaluates daily operations to achieve desired outcomes.
May interact with internal customers (staff members, children, families) and external contacts (vendors, regulators, visitors), and uses professionalism, tact and cultural sensitivity.
This position requires basic to intermediate skills to effectively use office automation, email, computer-based applications and office equipment to efficiently meet job requirements including data entry and maintenance of databases.
High school diploma is required. Candidates with an Associate’s degree with 3 or more years of office management or administrative support experience are preferred. Travel to Batavia will be required; all candidates must have a NYS driver’s license and must meet agency driving and insurance requirements.
