The Director, Retail Sales for The Home Depot will collaborate with cross-functional partners to manage all aspects of the Home Depot business including strategic and tactical business planning, forecasting, budgeting, promotional campaigns, and content strategy and development. This role will define and lead The Home Depot vision by developing and executing a national strategy to address market needs, both in-store and online, and drive new business opportunities in this channel. The role will lead and manage the Home Depot sales team creating a winning and inclusive culture, building bench strength, having a focus on engagement, and fostering collaborative relationships and partnerships with all internal partners. This position will lead the evolution of new strategic ideas and promote collaboration with the sales and marketing teams to achieve business goals and growth for Allegion. The position also includes direct responsibility for sales and program execution as well as responsibility for forging deep relationships within Home Depot, including customer contacts from store level to MVP/SVP, marketing, and operations.

Key Responsibilities:
Sales Execution

Develop, socialize and execute a strategic plan that will enable profitable growth in The Home Depot account
Lead The Home Depot sales team in meeting revenue, profitability, program and expense goals
Identify and pursue new opportunities within the channel for business development
Develop training curriculum to ensure best possible representation at store level for customer's associates
Merchandising Execution/Collaboration (in conjunction with channel marketing)
Event creation and execution through collaboration with marketing, finance and senior management to create and execute promotions to drive sales
Implement and enforce Allegion policy; ensure customer compliance with defined contractual commitments.
Relationship Building

Utilize sales and management background/experience to mentor, coach and develop sales team. Responsible for performance management, talent review, employee development, talent acquisition and employee engagement
Work with sales and marketing leaders to develop and drive Allegion’s short and long term revenue growth and profitability strategies
Provide strategic thought leadership to product and marketing, working closely with product management, channel marketing and brand marketing
Works with in-store service teams/function; provides direction and tools to perform store service effectively
Work with sales planning and supply chain, as required, to ensure in-stock availability for retail channel partners
Provide open communication, market/customer expertise and direction to broader Allegion team and leadership.
Fulfillment and forecasting execution
Business Acumen

Proactively reports out on POS trends, competitive pressures, strategic channel partner KPIs
Leads line reviews with customers and is responsible for category management of national account
Optimize sales per square foot by managing sku, adding the right new sku's and performing sku maintenance
Pricing execution including returns and fines mitigation
Execute annual Business Review with account (i.e. overall business performance, performance to target, overall profitability, GMROI, turns, inventory management etc.)

Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or Technical field, MBA preferred
10+ years of retail sales or marketing experience including leadership experience
Strong business acumen with proven strategic planning and a track record of profitable growth
Experience with the implementation of growth, new business development and marketing initiatives that lead to stronger market advantages
Strong organizational skills with the ability to execute/implement on strategic design
Ability to develop compelling reasons for action that radically improve customer experience delivery
Proven leadership skills with the ability communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
Ability to balance multiple priorities, manage virtual teams, ensure support functions are adequately staffed, manage peaks and valleys of demand, ensure teams are well-trained and have appropriate tools; be an effective resource investigator
Ability to understand and implement change management methodology across virtual and co-located team structures including creating a shared sense of urgency, contributing to shaping the right vision, engaging stakeholders, communicating relentlessly, keeping up the pressure/energy and aligning the organization
Ability to travel 50%
