We are seeking an experienced customer marketer with a proven track record defining and executing on successful customer marketing strategy. The role will shape First Solar’s customer marketing efforts globally through the implementation and continuous improvement of tailored strategic programs for our customer segments in a manner consistent with the corporate identity and brand, and the global business development growth strategy.

The customer marketer will be responsible for driving targeted initiatives that build customer advocacy (including referrals, testimonials, references, etc.), identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities, and increase loyalty and retention. They will also be responsible for measuring initiatives against organizational goals and translating customer insights and campaign results back to the broader organization.

The successful candidate will become an integral part of the Global Marketing and Sales Operations team, contributing to the strategic direction of the global marketing strategy of the organization.

The customer marketer will be responsible for driving targeted initiatives that build customer advocacy (including referrals, testimonials, references, etc.), identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities, and increase loyalty and retention. They will also be responsible for measuring initiatives against organizational goals and translating customer insights and campaign results back to the broader organization.

The successful candidate will become an integral part of the Global Marketing and Sales Operations team, contributing to the strategic direction of the global marketing strategy of the organization.

Experience:
Minimum of six years’ experience in marketing, public relations, or related fields;

Experience in creating and executing marketing campaigns and programs that drive customer engagement and advocacy

International and multi-lingual marketing experience within a multi-national corporation desired;

Technical or industrial industry experience required; renewable energy experience preferred (solar experience strongly preferred)

Education:
BA/BS or equivalent; advanced degree a plus

Required Skills/Competencies:
Experience in developing successful customer marketing strategies, plans and campaigns

Understanding of the customer journey and a track record of conceptualizing marketing initiatives that positively impact the customer experience in a B2B environment

Hands-on knowledge of relevant processes and tools for lead generation and management, including search engines, list procurement, Salesforce, marketing automation, and reporting tools

Ability to understand key business objectives and effectively coordinate with corporate, functions and regions to deliver an integrated customer marketing plan

Strong analytical skills to translate customer insights into marketing campaign inputs, and determine marketing effectiveness and ROI of customer engagement efforts

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to nurture customer relationships and

work with cross-functional teams

Ability to identify nuances of customer needs and craft targeted strategic marketing communications appropriately

Essential Responsibilities:
Lead development of a global business-driven customer marketing strategy that supports First Solar’s business development efforts around the world

Drive growth of outbound customer marketing programs, including the development of targeted collateral, digital campaigns, cost-efficient events, public relations and external communications tailored for each customer segment to clearly articulate our unique value proposition

Develop paid, owned and earned strategies that focus on supporting customer journey lifecycles from market awareness, conversion and cultivation through demand generation and advocacy

Build and foster relationships with customers to drive brand advocacy and evangelization of our message, and to bring insights back to inform strategy, tactics, and campaign development

Work with Marketing and Brand Communications to identify key customers that can act as a marketing channel

Oversee the development of bespoke customer messaging/positioning and collateral to drive co-marketed thought leadership and brand opportunities, i.e. case studies, white papers, marketing materials

Lead the Voice of the Customer program, working with Marketing and Brand Communications, to inform a data-driven, synthesized market view based customer marketing strategy

Work with Marketing and Brand Communications team manage event strategy to support and elevate a consistent brand experience and message at company-led customer events and industry conferences and exhibitions.

Manage multiple projects simultaneously and understand project priorities and internal stakeholder expectations

Drive marketing strategy for key customer programs to support the expansion of customer-led value positioning and overarching marketing strategy to drive the First Solar brand identity (Global Accounts, Direct, Indirect and Channel Partner Sales initiatives)

Develop a deep understanding of the First Solar customer journey and behavioral patterns

Provide product, sales and brand customer feedback to inform future marketing strategies and drive continuous improvement

Lead the process for the continuous evaluation of customer marketing trends and adjust strategy to capitalize on shifts in the marketplace,

Obtaining and disseminate competitive customer marketing intelligence to inform marketing strategies

Longer term build a team of customer marketers to support growth of the organization
