This position reports to the Integrated Marketing Manager and is responsible for ideation, development and execution of neighbor (customer) activation programs to assist stores in building the Pet Supplies Plus brand within our local neighborhoods. In addition to building an annual event/activity calendar and content for in-store turnkey events, the Community Marketing Lead will identify, execute and deliver reporting of key metrics for local events in key markets, as well as collaborate with Marketing, Merchants and Operations teams to activate national programs on a local/community level.

The Community Marketing Lead will:
Assess overall needs for local activation marketing/event programs, from Operations, franchise owner and Store Team Leader lens.
Develop and lead the execution of turnkey local activation programs to support all stores.
Identify, negotiate, plan, support and evaluate local sponsorships and community event participation opportunities for key Pet Supplies Plus markets.
Collaborate and execute local activation of stand-alone pet vendor marketing programs.
Develop key metrics for store level engagement in local activation programs.
Regular evaluation and reporting on program success.
Utilize social media, digital media, PR, print, in-store signage and website to support local events.
Oversee Brand Center (store collateral repository) content for local activation, with assistance from Marketing Support Coordinator.
Develop and maintain budget for local activation activities.
Manage communications with stores to support their local marketing needs.
Maintain positive relationships with stores, franchise owners, vendor & internal partners.
Assist with other marketing functions as needed.

PAWsome Community Marketing Lead candidates will have:
Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
3+ years’ experience in event planning and execution; Retail experience a plus.
Experience developing key metrics and reporting for marketing/event programs.
Advanced level proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Proven ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational skills & attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop relationships across all levels of the organization.
Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication.
The ability to work independently and as a part of a team and lead others.
The desire to learn and produce results.
A bias for action and be a self-starter.
The ability to travel up to 10%.
