Pharmacy Technician
Job Classification: Non-Exempt
Assignment Category: Full Time – 40 hours per week
Department: Customer Services Department
Reports To: Pharmacy Services Manager
Salary Range: $17 to $24 / hour
Job Description Summary: A Pharmacy Technician, who speaks the Chinese language (required) will be responsible for making sure a patient’s prescription is filled correctly and ready to be shipped out in a timely manner.
Main Responsibilities/Functions:
● Provide prompt, courteous customer service
● Assist with incoming calls
● Contact members to obtain information and enroll them into Gojji services
● Contact patients who are overdue on their refill
● Transfer calls to a CDE, Registered Dietician, or Pharmacists when necessary
● Contact patient to verify information
● Educate patients
● Input correct patient information into database
● Receive prescriptions from patients and record the proper patient information following department policies and procedures
● Bill prescriptions and understand different insurance criteria is met
● Assist patients with contact, insurance or mailing issues
● Assist patients with eligibility, prescriptions, refills or diabetic supplies
● Contact providers to obtain prescriptions
● Package orders for mailing
● Filing the prescriptions once they have been completed
● Assist customers with prescriptions and/or other products
● Maintain inventory and supplies
● Other duties as assigned
Qualifications: Qualifications:
● Speaks Chinese (required)
● High School Diploma, GED or higher
● Active CA State License as a Pharmacy Technician in good standing
● Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
● Ability to be a fast learner
● Ability to understand the importance of working as a team
● Able to calculate basic dispensing quantities and day supply
● Able to transcribe and read basic medical terminology of prescriptions and medical orders
● Type 35 wpm or greater
Experience:
● Working understanding of HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act)
● Knowledge of workflow through both Pharmacy Software and CRM System
Competencies:
● Detail orientated
● General knowledge of Diabetes and identify common diabetic medications
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills
● Excellent time management skills
● Excellent computer skills
● Willing to adapt to change
