Ardmore Power Logistics, a third-party logistics company serving the energy industry, has an immediate Westlake, Ohio-based opening for a Transportation Procurement Specialist. To fill this role, we are seeking professional candidates with transportation experience and strong organizational skills.
Description:
The Transportation Procurement Specialist will be responsible for carrier management and procurement. Experience negotiating contracts and contract management is pivotal to the role. The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously is important. In addition, the Transportation Procurement Specialist will be responsible for vetting carriers, negotiating rates, managing provider relationships, and carrier insurance.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage relationships with transportation providers to ensure efficient and cost-effective transportation services
- Negotiate and manage contracts with carriers to ensure the best possible rates, transit times, and service levels
- Monitor carrier performance; provide regular feedback to carriers to improve service levels and resolve any issues
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand transportation requirements and develop strategies to meet those needs
- Manage carrier compliance with company policies and government regulations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support ongoing supply chain initiatives and projects
- Develop and maintain accurate and up-to-date carrier information in transportation management systems
- Analyze and report on transportation performance, costs, and trends to provide actionable insights to the organization
- Serve as an escalation point for claims as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in transportation management, procurement, or logistics
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills
- Excellent communication, administration, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Ability to analyze complex data and make data-driven decisions
- Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards
