Position Responsibilities: Coordinate the Kansas Highway Patrol Motor Vehicle Inspection Designee Program.
Ensure the over 200 participating agencies are contracted with the VIN program and maintain compliance with established policies and procedures. This includes, but is not limited to, confirming all participating agencies abide by inspection procedures, are current on training requirements, and have current contractual agreements approved by the Superintendent for participation in the program.
Additional responsibilities include providing online training through the CJIS Launchpad, on sight training, on site auditing, remedial training, and being a point of contact for questions from Designee agencies. Maintain continuous contact and ensure agencies respond in a timely fashion. Keep training and testing materials up to date and review Designee Program work products to ensure compliance with Kansas Highway Patrol VIN inspection procedures. Audits for NCIC usage and monitors contract renewal. Oversees Audit system.
Supervise two administrative employees, one in Wichita and one in Topeka. Maintain cross training to be able to fill in for those positions as needed. Make sure employees have resources needed to perform their jobs. Assist with maintaining current stock of MVE-3, MVE-1D, and security labels. Requires work areas to be maintained in a neat and orderly fashion. Provides performance feedback, coaching, and recommends employment actions to supervision as necessary.

Licensing & Certification
Valid Driver License
6 Months of experience in providing direction necessary to implement the objectives of an agency, program, or organizational unit.
Special Knowledge, Skills and abilities: Legally drive KHP vehicles for job related duties, communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with fellow employees and general public via telephone, email, or in person, perform basic mathematical calculations, maintain good working relationships with public and co-workers. Knowledge of SMART, SHARP, Excel, Word, etc.
Incumbent must be able to bend, stretch, twist, reach with body, arms and/or legs. Must have the ability to see details up close and at a distance.
Required: Must submit and pass a background investigation including fingerprints.
